Tijuana vs Tigres: Preview, Prediction & Betting Tips.

This betting preview contains recent form, possible lineups, injury news, match predictions and betting tips for Tijuana vs Tigres in the Liga MX Apertura.

Betting Preview:

Everybody who has ever placed a bet looks for an angle on the action they're taking - and if you're betting on the underdog, this is probably doubly true. But sometimes, there are no angles to be seen, sometimes the facts are just the facts. And the fact of the matter here is that Tijuana are simply the best team in Mexico right now (and by extension, probably the best team in North America). Tijuana have played 7 games at home so far this year - and they've won all of them. What makes them special is that they've won 6 of those 7 matches with clean sheet performances behind their keeper, Federico Vilar. They have only allowed a single goal at home all season, and even when you think it's a certainty that they'll start to come down to earth, they seem to find a way to keep the momentum going. The one criticism of them (if you can call it that) is that they do rely heavily on Dayro Moreno for goals - he does have 9 of their 13 goals at home this year. But even when Dayro has an off day, Caraglio and Huache are still capable scorers that have burned defenses that looked to shut down Dayro with double teams. On the other side of the pitch we have 3rd place Tigres - and they are probably be the most fully rounded team to play against Tijuana in the Estadio Caliente this season. But even when viewing Tigres record, you have a hard time calling them ‘elite' at this stage of the game. The do have some fine clean sheet performances on the road (shutting out America, Morelia and Chivas), but they haven't shown that they're infallible to this point. The main problem with Tigres right now is the fact that Andre-Pierre Gignac, their French international striker, really hasn't gotten a good start off the blocks this season - and this is especially true on the road seeing as how Gignac only has a single road goal.

Match Prediction:

Until proven otherwise, Tijuana are still king and have to be backed here in this spot. Tigres are good, very good in fact, but so far nothing has matched the potency of what Tijuana bring to the table. If you're looking for a steady play, take Tijuana to win. If you're looking for a fairly reasonable play with a chance to make better money, a bet for Tijuana to win via a clean sheet isn't out of the realm of possibility, though it is probably a 50/50 shot in our mind right now.
