In this Group G matchup, the two teams competing enter from vastly different positions. Italy are level on points with Spain at the top of the group, while Liechtenstein currently sits at rock bottom of the group with zero points. Italy have had a surprisingly smooth transition since Antonio Conte left for Chelsea, with the team picking up wins over Israel and Macedonia and a draw against Spain. They haven't kept a clean sheet in qualifying yet, but a clash with a Liechtenstein side that has scored once in its last six fixtures offers the azzurri a great chance to do so. Liechtenstein haven't had much success defending either, which was evident in an 8-0 beatdown by Spain in their first match of qualifying, as well as losing 4-0 to Iceland and 5-0 to Denmark in international friendlies.

Match Prediction:

Italy should not have much of an issue beating Liechtenstein, and with the bookies in strong agreement about that, it really becomes a more of a question of by how much. There's huge blowout potential in this match, and Italy won't want to leave anything to chance with only one point separating first and fourth place in Group G at the moment. Assuming Italy do start knocking goals past the 183rd ranked team in the world, Lazio hitman Ciro Immobile will surely be at the center of it. The striker has scored three in three for country and seven in his previous six matches for his club. While Lichtenstein has done a decent job of containing other small sides, when there's a large quality gap between themselves and their opponents, it's typically reflected on the scoresheet.
