Betting Tips for Premier League - Gameweek 22

A SIX POINTER AT BRAMALL LANE

Relegation ‘six-pointers' have been in constant supply as of late and this midweek we are treated to another as Sheffield United play host to West Brom in a battle of the very bottom a battle that will largely define both clubs hopes of survival.

For Sheffield United it has been a case of relative improvement as of late, but still with a lot of work to do and although they picked up a surprise win over Manchester United last week, they still find themselves an eye-watering 13 points from safety.

Of course, things are not all that better for opponents West Brom and even though they showed a rather spirited performance in their recent 2-2 draw with Fulham, Sam Allardyce's men are now nine points from salvation themselves.

Which is why this upcoming Bramall Lane clash is so important to both teams and if either outfit subsequently loses, then it would surely be the death knell for their hopes of staying up at the end of the season.

Because if Sheffield United lose on Tuesday, then you would think there is little to suggest they can launch the greatest of escapes and to be honest even if they were to win, it will still be something akin to a huge leap of faith.

While if they were to win, it would only hamper West Brom's own chances of a 17th place finish come May and with so much on the line, this might lend itself to be a rather cagey affair. To the point where, backing a total of Under 2.5 goals makes the most sense.
Summary: Back Under 2.5 goals at 1.61

BLUES WIN THE LOCAL BRAGGING RIGHTS

Are the wheels falling off Tottenham's season? It would certainly look that way and although defeat to Liverpool and Brighton in the past week is a rather small immediate sample, it is the elongation of indifferent form that has so many Spurs supporters concerned.

Of course, there is a sense of déjà vu when it comes to Tottenham, as once again Harry Kane finds himself absent with not one but two ankle injuries and even though do have a backup striker for this very reason, manager Jose Mourinho is refusing to use Carlos Vinicius at large.

Add the fact that Gareth Bale looks absolutely done as a Premier League talent and you can see the extent of Tottenham's problems right now, problems that may only worsen by the end of Thursday evening.

That's because they play host to a Chelsea side, who have recently wielded the managerial axe and in doing so have installed Thomas Tuchel as the next man to take the ever-changing reins at Stamford Bridge.

Even though the former PSG manager got his players to pass Wolves to death last weekend, it did not quite work regarding the pursuit of victory and the new look Blues were more direct in their win over Burnley.

While now that a first win has been recorded in this new era, Chelsea should be confident of making the short trip to Tottenham and picking up all three points. If they do, you could be handsomely rewarded with odds of 2.20.
Summary: Back the Blues to win away from home

LIVERPOOL BACK IN THE GROOVE

There's absolutely no doubt that Liverpool found themselves in a blip at the start of the year and although performances were rather indifferent at the start of the month, they did at least improve towards the end of it.

To the point where Jurgen Klopp's men picked up wins against Tottenham and West Ham and with the club now back in the top three of the table, it is time to refocus on their pursuit of a second successive Premier League crown.

A pursuit that continues this Wednesday, as they play host to Brighton and although Graham Potter's men were very impressive against Tottenham on Sunday, a trip to Anfield may prove to be a rather tougher task.

Liverpool may have seen their monster home unbeaten streak ended recently and although that would have undoubtedly smarted, now is the time to start a new one. A run that should begin with success over Brighton on Wednesday.
Prediction: Back Liverpool to win at 1.36
