Fantasy Premier League Differential Tips For Gameweek 23

Share post on:
Welcome back to another article highlighting Fantasy Premier League Differential Tips for Gameweek 23. This week Callum Read analysis five potential differentials ahead of Gameweek 23. Last Gameweek saw Sergio Aguero return to the score sheet in Manchester City's 4-0 win over Crystal Palace. The Argentinean looked a real threat and could now be returning to his lethal goal scoring form. Elsewhere Spurs continued their fine home form following a 4-1 win over Sunderland and Newcastle and Bournemouth got much needed wins over Norwich and West Ham respectively. We are here to provide you with some differential tips that you could use for your side(s) in Gameweek 23. Don't forget to register your weekly team on both MondoGoal and FantasyBet. Please note, for all FPL tips players must be below 5.0% ownership to be considered a differential; and all prices and ownership's are accurate from the time of writing.

FPL Differential Tips

Leighton Baines (6.1m) vs Swansea (H) 3.4% Ownership

In Everton's 3-3 draw with Chelsea last weekend the English left back picked up two assists and looked a real threat down the left hand side for Everton. It's been a rough season so far for Baines, having only played 569 minutes due to injuries but after his performance at Stamford Bridge we expect him to retain his place for the foreseeable future. Baines is deadly from set pieces and takes the majority of Everton's free kicks, corners and penalties. He's always looking to get forwards and overlap his winger and once into that position he has one of the most dangerous deliveries in the league.

Jordan Henderson (6.5m) vs Norwich (A) 3.8% Ownership

Liverpool fell to a 1-0 defeat against rivals Manchester United but Jordan Henderson did look a threat for Jurgen Klopp's side. He was constantly trying to create chances and was shooting whenever he got in range. As we know the English midfielder failed to get onto the score sheet but if he keeps up his drive and passion to score this weekend against Norwich he may get himself on the score sheet. Norwich themselves have lost their last two games 3-0 and 3-1 so they certainly are leaking goals.

Jonjo Shelvey (5.3m) vs Watford (A) 1.8% Ownership

It came as a surprise to many people when Swansea decided to sell Shelvey to Newcastle and his performance against West Ham will surely make Swansea fans scratch their heads. The debutant was always looking to get on the ball and play the ball into dangerous areas, he played a part in both goals with his 60 yard pass to Daryl Janmaat the highlight of his debut. He was constantly looking to get forwards and tried his luck at Adrian's goal a few times so he certainly brings goal scoring potential.

MondoGoal Differential Tips

Benik Afobe (MondoGoal: 9.7m) vs Sunderland (A)

The January signing from Wolves grabbed his first goal in the 3-0 win over Norwich last weekend. It was an elegant side footed volley after a pinpoint delivery from Charlie Daniels. Now there are doubts about Afobe's fitness for this weekend and that is exactly why he is our MondoGoal tip. It enables you to see if he is in Eddie Howe's plans after his press conference and then if he is in the starting XI comes Saturday. It's fair to say the Sunderland are not the strongest defensive outfit and are going to concede goals on a weekly basis, Afobe will be looking to make the most of that.

FantasyBet Differential Tips

Kelechi Icheanacho (FantasyBet: 4.5m) vs West Ham (A)

The Manchester City youngster is in a similar situation to Afobe in the sense that he may or may not start against West Ham; but you'd imagine that after his assist and all round performance against Crystal Palace in which he showed great maturity that Manuel Pellegrini would reward him with another start. West Ham themselves looked very poor defensively against Newcastle United and they were lucky to only concede the two goals. Against a side of much higher class they may do so and Manchester City and Icheanacho certainly bring that class.
