Fantasy MLS Tips - Mondogoal Daily Fantasy Football Advice - Round 17 - June 24th, 2015 For the purposes of this article, all prices and points are via our partners Mondogoal. There were a few surprises in this last round that caught a lot of people by surprise. Did you invest in Bradley Wright Phillips and suffer with his -1.92 points due to missing a couple of penalties? Or maybe you spent a lot of funds in the LA backline only to watch Philly get that meaningless goal in a 5-1 effort. No matter what happened in the round prior, the beauty of daily fantasy is that we can all hit the reset button and start fresh with the next group of games. And that's exactly what we're going to do here. The MLS week is broken down into multiple segments again this week on Mondogoal - you have fixtures on Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. We'll focus on the Wednesday matches here since we get seven matches to choose from. We'll be back later in the week after these games have finished up to cover the weekend listings. The Wednesday games for this week are: Philadelphia vs. Seattle Columbus vs. New England NYRB vs. Salt Lake Orlando vs. Colorado Toronto vs. Montreal Chicago vs. DC LA vs. Portland Here are the best players from each position, along with a few value picks to round out your squad:

GOALKEEPER & DEFENDER TIPS

The first thing you'll want to consider is honing in on the Orlando vs. Colorado matchup. Colorado are on the road -- and they're absolutely abysmal as the visiting side this year. In the last ten matches (home or away) Colorado haven't scored more than a single goal in any one match. And in their last two road fixtures?  Colorado have been blanked both times. For this reason, you may want to single out Tally Hall (GK, $4.4) with his insanely low price. Orlando have kept clean sheets in two of their last three home matches and Colorado aren't the odds on favourite to make any waves in this match. Picking up Hall means that you can really invest in other positions as well. As a note, avoid Aurelien Collin as he was subbed off in his last match with a leg injury. Instead, try pairing Hall with Sean St Ledger (D, $7.6). St Ledger scored 11.96 points in his last home outing and looks to be a nailed on starter for Orlando going forward. If you just don't trust budget keepers and defenders, Bill Hamid (GK, $10.3) has allowed just a single goal in nine of his last ten matches (3 points for 1 goal allowed). There simply isn't a goal keeper around who is as steady as Hamid game in and game out. This week DC will be going to Chicago - and Chicago do typically find the net at least once while at home. Hamid should be able to limit the damage though. Hamid is averaging 9.3 points per game over his last four fixtures, and his pace doesn't look to be slowing down. If you want to pair a defender with Hamid, try Steve Birnbaum (D, $6.9).  Birnbaum is averaging 4.7 points per game over the same time period and won't break your bank if you're chasing a clean sheet with Hamid.

MIDFIELDER TIPS

RSL's Javier Morales (M, $13.6) is going to come at a premium this week, but he has two 13+ point efforts in his last three matches. Also take into account the fact that RSL are playing in NY, and NY isn't exactly a defensive stronghold. NY haven't kept a clean sheet at home since April 17 of this year - and the attack from RSL doesn't make a clean sheet look likely this week either. And Javier Morales is just starting to heat up - he gave a pair of assists in RSL's last match. Philadelphia's Cristian Maidana (M, $8.9) is a great pick this week playing at home. Maidana and the Union may have been blown out against LA on the road last weekend, but they are a better squad while at home. Maidana will be the focal point of the Philly attack until the entire squad gets healthy, and he's scoring at a rate that proves he's up to the task.  In his last three matches, Maidana has averaged 7.70 points - really not bad for the price point. Finally, Montreal's Ignacio Piatti (M, $10.1) is a real value for the price.  Even though Piatti didn't get on the score sheet in his last outing, he still managed 10.37 points. Three of Piatti's last four outings have seen him score in double digits. True, Piatti will be on the road to Toronto, but Toronto have yet to figure out a successful defensive scheme.

STRIKER TIPS

Toronto's Sebastian Giovinco (F, $13.0) should still be on top of everybody's list as the forward of choice. Sure, he didn't find the back of the net in his last fixture, but consider this: Giovinco as a starter has not gone two straight weeks with a single digit score. That's an astounding stat. Simply put, the data shows that he's going to bounce back and give you some scoring.  His form is greater than the result of just one match, he's proven that. Robbie Keane (F, $10.8) was only able to get an assist last round, but the LA striker was integral for the attack. The striker scored his first double digit mark in seven matches and looks to continue the trend going forward. He's going to be going up against a very stout Portland defence, but it's hard to see Portland keeping a total clean sheet regardless of the outcome of the match.

BARGAIN BUYS

Every successful team needs that value player to round out the squad. Mondogoal allows for $100,000,000 budget - but if you take Giovinco and Keane, you've used nearly a quarter of that for just two players. It spends fast. Here are the top picks that won't break your bank. Gyasi Zardes (F, $6.9) - The LA forward will now play second fiddle to Robbie Keane, but he's still part of the scoring. He exploded in his last match with a 22+ point performance, and another home fixture should be good for him. Jorge Villafana (M, $7.8) - The Portland man has really come into his own as of late. He has two assists in his last two matches and looks to be nailed on as the set piece taker while close to the box. His last score of 13.25 points were well worth his price. CJ Sapong (F, $6.7) - Sapong is the ultimate super-sub for Philadelphia - but he's getting starter's minutes while the team comes back to full health. Sapong has three straight weeks with double digit scores, and his price is the very definition of value.

FORMATIONS & INJURIES

With such a strong roster of home sides this week, you should probably consider taking three forwards as your primary formation. It's up to you if you want to run a 3-4-3 or a 4-3-3, but the third forward could produce big results this week. With the value picks listed above, you should have no problem finding a price point on the third forward that works for the rest of your squad. Also remember that Obafemi Martins, Lloyd Sam and Sebastian LeToux are out with injury. Also, Clint Dempsey is still on a suspension.
