Daily Fantasy Football Tips For UCL February 16th

Share post on:
Fantasy UEFA Champions League Round 16 returns on February 16th when Benfica host Zenit and Chelsea fly out to the French capital to take on PSG. The small slate means less variance amongst daily fantasy teams, which subsequently increases the importance of calling the clean sheets, goal scorers and differentials. As usual, we've taken a look at what the bookies predict to give a rough indication of what's expected from these fixtures. The table below displays the bookies odds converted into an implied chance percentage:
Team To Win 2+ Goals Clean Sheet
Benfica 46.51% 42.02% 40.00%
Zenit 27.78% 28.57% 26.67%
Chelsea 18.18% 20.00% 22.22%
PSG 58.82% 55.00% 50.00%
PSG are the favourites for a shutout which comes as no surprise based on the fact they've kept a clean sheet in five of their last six Champions League matches. Benfica come in as second favourites aided by the fact their playing on home soil and their opposition Zenit could be slightly off the pace having had two months off over the winter period. Gregory Van der Wiel looks set to start at right-back following Serge Aurier's suspension for slamming his manager and fellow players on social media. The Dutchman possesses a strong attacking threat on the right flank for PSG and has contributed with a goal and four assists in all competitions this campaign. Julio Cesar is a good value pick across several daily fantasy football websites this Tuesday. His price-tag is almost half of Kevin Trapp's despite making just one less save across the six group stage matches. The former QPR keeper is a great cash enabler for the more lucrative attacking picks. Eliseu has been solid at the back for Benfica picking up the highest average number of tackles (2.8) and interceptions (2.7) per game in the Champions League this season (minimum of three apps). The left-back also takes indirect free kicks so is a good bet for assists - picking up one so far in the tournament. Please note that Eliseu is listed as a midfielder on Mondogoal, so with this in mind he is perhaps a better option for FantasyBet.   Van der Wiel: Mondogoal (£11.3m), FantasyBet (£6.0m) Cesar: Mondogoal (£6.9m), FantasyBet (£5.5m) Eliseu: Mondogoal (£8.0m), FantasyBet (£5.5m)
Player Mins Goals Assists
Ibrahimovic 520 2 2
Di Maria 413 3 0
Dzyuba 469 6 2
Hulk 450 3 4
Mitroglou 161 2 1
Gaitan 431 3 1
Costa 513 1 0
Willian 462 5 0
Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Angel Di Maria are two players that always appear at the top of the PPG rankings for their respective slate. Chelsea have looked a new outfit under Guus Hiddink and have remained unbeaten in 12 matches. However, we're confident that PSG will break down their defence, but whether the pair will return enough to justify their premium price tags is another question. It's hard to fade Artyom Dzyuba ahead of their trip to Benfica, despite Zenit's low odds to score. The forward has six goals in six games for Zenit in the Champions League and has also tallied up a couple of assists along the way. We're not ignoring the potential of teammate Hulk, but in a slate that's going to test the budget, Dzyuba is a bargain in comparison to the winger. Nicolas Gaitan stood out as a key player for Benfica in the group stages and proved their most consistent player for points. The playmaker has scored three and assisted one so far in the Champions League and at a fair price we expect his ownership to be one of the highest from the February 16th slate. Willian has been a diamond in the rough this season for Chelsea in all competitions. The Brazilian has scored five goals so far in the Champions League, and following Chelsea's 5-1 victory over Newcastle in the league - in which Willian scored and assisted - you'd expect the Blues to be up for this one. He could prove a differential for this fixture, with PSG looking clear favourites to win the tie.   Ibrahimovic: Mondogoal (£20.9m), FantasyBet (£13.0m) Di Maria: Mondogoal (£17.6m), FantasyBet (£10.5m) Dzyuba: Mondogoal (£12.2m), FantasyBet (£7.5m) Gaitan: Mondogoal (£11.6m), FantasyBet (£8.0m) Willian: Mondogoal (£10.0m), FantasyBet (£8.5m)
