Spain are showing signs of returning back to the top of international football after an average couple of years. They are currently unbeaten leading their qualifying group on goal difference with a draw against Italy sandwiched between wins at minnows Liechtenstein and Albania. They haven't been shy with the goals having scored 11 and only conceded 1 - an 8-0 win against Liechtenstein the particular highlight. Their opponents FYR Macedonia have yet to pick up a point but can consider themselves unlucky having lost by only a goal margin each time. They have also managed to score in each of their qualifiers to date. Spain have won each of their five games against Macedonia and beat them 5-1 when they last played at home a couple of years ago.

Match Prediction:

The form book and gulf in quality between the two sides suggests this should be an easy win for Spain - the question is how much by. Spain have averaged over three goals per game so far (although that figure is heavily beefed up by their Liechtenstein win while Macedonia have conceded at least two. Even though Diego Costa - their top scorer in qualifying - looks likely to miss out with a groin strain, they should still have enough goals in them with Alvaro Morata leading the line. Although Macedonia have scored in each of their qualifiers they may struggle to break down a Spain side that love to dominate possession and have only conceded one goal in their campaign so far - even if they are without first-choice centre backs Gerard Pique and Sergio Ramos.
