GW26 - Under the Radar - Best Differentials for this Weeks FPL
Gross
6.7m
1.7% TSB
Brighton and Hove Albion
Burnley, BLANK, Leicester, Huddersfield.
So Pascal Gross is back and putting up good numbers. With fantastic fixtures from here until Spurs in gameweek 33, he could be an outside shout for your midfield while we navigate the blanks and doubles (which Brighton will see a few of). This season the German has created 37 chances for his teammates, that is more than current FPL darling Paul Pogba While over the last 4 weeks he has created more than any other player in the league with 17 chances (and Brighton have played the likes of Man Utd and Liverpool in this time).
To look at some other statistics, we see that Gross has also delivered more crosses than the likes of Holebas, Sigurdsson and Eriksen Has had as many goal attempts as Sane, And has more expected assists 0.89xA than Pogba and Hazard.
Of course Brighton blank after this gameweek, but if your bench can cope with the rotation then Pascal Gross could be a handy pick up.
Moutinho
5.6m
5.3% TSB
Wolverhampton Wanderers
Newcastle, Bournemouth, Huddersfield, Cardiff
Wolves have been brilliant this year for FPL assets, Jiminez and Doherty of course take the plaudits but subtly some other players can provide coverage, points, and value for money especially with Wolves' lack of a blank gameweek in 27 and good fixtures over the next 4. Moutinho was picked at the start of the season as a one to watch by many, but its recently where his relentless set piece duties and comfortability in play in the Wolves team where the diminutive Portuguese pro has found his rhythm.
With 7 assists this season but 5 coming in the last 3 gameweeks, the word form was invented for Moutinho as an FPL asset and with home games against Newcastle and Cardiff and trips to Huddersfield and Bournemouth we should see plenty more opportunities for set pieces as Wolves line up against sides you typically implement the deep block in defence. Moutinho has also scored 3 consecutive bonus point returns (2,2 and 1) doubling the amount of times he has returned in individual gameweeks all season (6 returns seeing 11 points net), at a good price in midfield he could be a clever pick for your 5th midfielder.
Pereira
5.3m
11.6%
Leicester City
Spurs, Crystal Palace, Brighton, Watford
No blank, great form, sometimes playing out of position, great fixtures. What is not to love about this pick, not as much under the radar, but a priority for managers as other defensive assets hit blanks or tough fixture run. Leicester have posted good defensive stats this season, over the course of the whole season Leicester have only conceded 37 big chances. This number puts them as the 6th best defence in the league by this metric, with only Liverpool, City, Wolves, Spurs and Chelsea posting better data. These underlying good stats could pay dividend as Leicester soon hit a run of good games.
Fixtures: This is fascinating as Leicester are about to hit one of the best runs (on paper) for any team all season. In full they have
tot, CRY, BRI, wat, FUL, bur, BOU, hud, NEW, whu
up until GW36 where they finish on 3 tricky fixtures against top 6 sides. The run they face between GW27 and then is eye catching. Leicester, if they continue to post the good defensive statsitics under the radar then not only Pereira but Evans, Maguire and Chilwell could be good alternatives although there is definitely a reason why Pereira is favoured.
Stats: With 2 goals and 5 assists this season adding to his 14 bonus points (more than Pogba and 1 less than Aguero) Pereira has been deployed in a number of positions including right winger. With Harvey Barnes (5.5m) stepping up to the left wing and pushing Gray / Albrighton / Ghezzal to the right Pereira has started to retreat further back in the line ups. However he still attacks from here!
As Digne may soon leave our teams (and the lottery of owning him as well) Leicester could be the perfect hunting ground for our new mid range defensive asset:
Schmeichel 5.0m
Maguire 5.4m
Chilwell 5.0m
Pereira 5.3m
Evans 4.8m
Until Next Time...
Make Good Choices!
