Fantasy Premier League Differential Tips For Gameweek 31

Welcome back to another Fantasy Premier League Differential Tips for Gameweek 31 article. This week Callum Read looks at three players below 5.0% ownership who have a Double Gameweek in GW34. Finally, the news all FPL managers have been waiting for arrived this week. The double Gameweek's were announced with Gameweek 34 looking action packed. For those of you that don't have a wildcard left, forward planning is going to be the key to not being left behind by those who have saved theirs until now. Therefore, we've highlighted three players who are in form and also feature in DGW34. Firstly, Aaron Lennon of Everton, who this weekend faces Arsenal at Goodison Park, next up is West Ham's Michail Antonio and finally Adam Lallana of Liverpool.

Recent Form:

Player G A PPG
Lennon 3 0 7.00
Antonio 3 0 7.50
Lallana 2 1 6.25

G = Goals, A = Assists, PPG = Points per Game.

Antonio has certainly been catching the eye of Premier League fans in recent weeks, with some even questioning his exclusion from Roy Hodgson's latest England squad. The West Ham winger has the best PPG out of the trio. There was even some calls for Aaron Lennon to be included in the England squad as a result of his form for Everton. In his last four games the winger has three goals and has looked a real threat for the Toffees. Adam Lallana has the lowest PPG total out of the three players, but is the only player to register an assist in his last four games. He is a real favourite of Jurgen Klopp. The table enables us to see that Antonio has the best form, followed by Lennon and finally Adam Lallana.

Opposition Difficulty:

Player Vs. BCC GC
Lennon ARS (H) 9 8
Antonio che (A) 7 4
Lallana sou (A) 7 6

Vs. = Opponents, BCC = Big Chances Conceded, GC = Goals Conceded.

On paper, all three fixtures look relatively difficult, but as we know football isn't decided on paper. Arsenal have really hit a bad patch of form, and have only avoided conceding two or more goals in one of their last seven competitive games. Chelsea have also looked shaky defensively of late and haven't kept a clean sheet since the 3rd of February (0-0 away to Watford). Their exit from both the FA Cup and Champions League over the past week may have knocked the confidence of Guus Hiddink's side. The only question mark over Antonio's selection is John Terry's return, his reintroduction to the side will mean the back four is a lot more organised and structured than it has been in his absence. Liverpool have a good goal scoring record of late (13 in their last five Premier League games) and face a Southampton side who have become a lot weaker defensively in comparison to last month. In terms of big chances conceded it's Lennon and Everton who have the ‘easiest' fixture, Arsenal have conceded nine big chances in their last four games.

Team Creativity:

Team BC CFOP GA
Everton 16 49 72
West Ham 6 37 87
Liverpool 10 45 57
BC = Big Chances, CFOP = Chances from Open Play, GA = Goal Attempts. A quick look at the table suggest that Everton are the most creative out of the four sides, their 16 big chances in the last four games is the most in the Premier League. Their 49 chances from open play also makes for encouraging reading, second only to Spurs (68.) It's West Ham who lead the most goal attempts in the last four games, their main source of creativity is the ever wonderful Dimitri Payet who Antonio will be hoping provides for him at Stamford Bridge. However, they have had the least big chances and chances for open play. Liverpool have had the least goal attempts in the past four games, but their big chances is the third highest in the Premier League, whilst their chances from open play is the fifth highest, perhaps suggesting Liverpool are conservative with their efforts on goal.

The Verdict:

After analysing all three tables we've found it near on impossible to separate Lennon and Antonio. Their numbers almost match up and both are a vital component to their respective sides at this moment in time Of course you want a definitive answer, so it's Antonio we'd suggest investing in, Chelsea look poor defensively and West Ham also face Crystal Palace next weekend before greeting Arsenal to Upton Park. If you really want a punt then Lallana is your man, he's not looked prolific this season but is a favourite of the manager.
