FANTASY PREMIER LEAGUE TIPS
Eric Dier 5.0m (2.0% Ownership) Our first FPL tips comes in the shape of Eric Dier. There is an unwritten rule within FPL “Thou shall not pick a Tottenham defender” but Dier comes across as an exception. Every now and then we come across an out of position player (OOP); those who are listed as a certain position on FPL but play in a different one. In Dier's circumstances he's listed as a defender but in both games this season he has been playing as a midfielder. The benefit to this is he will be playing higher up the pitch giving him more chance to both score and assist. Last week he picked up seven points at home to Stoke. This week Spurs' travel to in form Leicester which could be a difficult game but with Dier in midfield he has the chance to contribute in the final third and score them much-needed points for your side.
Pape Souaré 4.5m - (0.8% Ownership) Sourare has nailed down the left back position at Palace and in the opening two games has looked very good. For those who haven't seen him play he's a very attacking defender with bags of pace but is also defensively strong. As expected last week Palace lost against Arsenal but the defender still put in an impressive performance. In gameweek one Palace travelled away to Norwich where Souare picked up seven points including one assist. This week Pardew's boys play host Aston Villa whose new signings still look to be settling in. This gives him a great chance for a clean sheet and also the chance to impact the game in the final third. He's priced at 4.5m which if you've been clever with your transfers and have two free ones hanging about you could use Sourare as a budget defender and push for Aguero upfront?
Nathan Redmond 5.5m - (2.9% Ownership) The English winger has been one of the shining lights for Norwich City so far this season. He's scored two goals in two games and currently sits on 16 points leaving him as the fifth highest scoring midfielder. It remains a mystery how he is owned by such a small percentage of players as his pace, trickery and directness makes him a nightmare for defenders. Last gameweek away to Sunderland Redmond collected 11 points, this week his Norwich side host Stoke City. A perfect opportunity to record back to back wins for the Canaries. If Norwich do play well then Redmond is more often than not playing well. He has the ability to score and assist and is going to be a real danger this weekend.
Adnan Januzaj 5.5m - (0.5% Ownership) Now what would a fantasy football tips article be without a jump on a bandwagon? The Belgian midfielder scored the only goal in the victory over Aston Villa on Friday night and looked a danger throughout the game. His goal may earn him a starting spot at home to Newcastle who currently don't look the best at the back, giving Januzaj the perfect chance to pick up some more FPL points. The youngster has struggled to nail down a starting place in the United side but if he continues this current form this could be his season. It seems most FPL players have flocked to the currently unimpressive, expensive players. Januzaj gives you a perfect alternative in the United side, this week Louis van Gaal has spoke about the chance to play him upfront which will see him have more goal scoring chances.
Diafra Sakho 6.5m - (3.5% Ownership) The West Ham striker is yet to get his first goal of the season and with him due a goal we are not sure he could off asked for a better fixture this weekend when West Ham host Bournemouth. Bournemouth are yet to score this season having played Aston Villa and Liverpool, whilst the Hammers have beaten Arsenal and lost to Leicester. Sakho was West Hams top scorer last season and was unplayable at times. With the service that Dimitri Payet provides you can expect to see Sakho with countless chances in front of goal. There are some reported off the field issues but if the forward can switch his focus to footballing matters then he has all the ability to cause problems for Eddie Howe's side this weekend.
Mame Biram Diouf 6.5m - (2.5% Ownership) With all the big names Stoke are signing one player in particular is being overlooked. Currently Bojan is out injured, Diouf is Stoke's first choice striker. He scored last week against Tottenham and will be looking to add to his tally this weekend when Stoke travel south to Norwich. He's bound to get chances with the creativity of Affellay, Shaqiri, Van Ginkel and Arnautovic. It's just if he can take them chances. He's a very quick striker who knows where the back of the net is (scoring 12 goals last season) and provides a danger both in the air and with his feet.
