The Salah, Aguero and Hazard debate went right down to the wire last weekend, with those who opted for Salah rewarded the best returns. It was a week for the differentials though, with none of the key attackers this season making the Dream Team. Gameweek 7 arrives off the back of midweek EFL Cup fixtures: it's important for fantasy managers to monitor minutes in these games, as rotation will hit many of the big sides around European fixtures. It looks to be Manchester City and Spurs players providing the greatest captaincy pull, for those managers who've invested. Plenty will be struggling, with popular Liverpool and Chelsea assets going toe to toe at Stamford Bridge on Saturday evening.

Shield Pick: Sergio Aguero vs Brighton (H)

The highest owned player in the game looks to be the standout pick this weekend, as Brighton visit the Etihad. He has a 100% record for returns in home fixtures, with 3 goals and 4 assists in 3 appearances. He also has penalties, which could further strengthen his returns: Brighton have conceded 3 this season. The only downside of choosing Aguero is that he is managing a slight knock, and his minutes have been limited to around 60 minutes in the two previous Premier League games. Brighton seems like a strong fixture on paper, they've conceded 5 goals on the road this season, but did manage to limit Liverpool to a narrow 1-0 victory at Anfield last month. If you have a strong rank to protect, play safe with the shield pick!

As Kane has declared to the media that he was feeling much happier with his performance last weekend, can we consider him a captain option again? He failed the eye test, but did convert a penalty: hopefully his declaration was the truth and not a publicity stunt. A shift in fixtures will help his appeal, plus penalties too. He now has 3 goals and an assist and faces a Huddersfield team that have conceded 14 goals this season. He certainly enjoys facing the Terriers, last season he scored 3 goals across the two fixtures, including a brace in the away game. Those managers who have the luxury of owning both Aguero and Kane may have a difficult decision to make. Will you take a risk on the sword pick?

Despite a tricky fixture, Hazard's form is undeniable: he's got the biggest points total of all attacking players, with just one blank. His home form is even more convincing, with a clean sweep of returns: 4 goals and 1 assist in 3 games is pleasant reading. He's another player with penalties in his armoury and his minutes should be secure. Liverpool have a good defensive record, but have conceded a couple of goals on the road: Hazard has the talent to unlock their defence in this game. Are you going for the form pick?

With a Manchester City win looking almost certain, Raheem Sterling looks like the best alternative to Aguero in the blues attack. Brighton have yet to keep a clean sheet this season, and Sterling has returns in 3 consecutive Premier League games, including goals in the last two. Rotation is always an issue for Pep's side, but managers should be encouraged if Sterling is rested midweek. He has started 5 of their 6 Premier League games. Will you opt for the fixture pick?

An away trip to Chelsea will be tough, but Liverpool have top spot in the Premier League to maintain and Salah is their star man. He faces his former employers in this game and scored a crucial goal against them last season. His underlying statistics suggest a big haul is just around the corner, with 3 goals and 2 assists respectable tallies to date. Chelsea may appear to have a strong defence, but they have conceded 2 goals to Arsenal and 1 to Cardiff at Stamford Bridge this season. If anyone can do the damage for Liverpool, it's Salah. While Mendy's mystery injury saga rolls on, the prime replacement Trippier is worthy of being a captain candidate this week. He faces a Huddersfield side who've yet to score at home this season: a clean sheet looks promising, but relying on the Spurs defence is a challenge with Lloris injured. Trippier is relishing in set piece involvement, he now has one goal and 2 assists, plus returned a brace of assists in this game last season. He certainly seems to be a BPS magnet, taking home all 3 in 3 games this season. A clean sheet will be tough in this one, Bournemouth are very attacking at home, having scored 10 goals across 3 games.
