Welcome back to another Fantasy Premier League Captain Tips for Gameweek 23 article. This week
jamieFPL returns to highlight the best low, medium and high-risk candidates for your captain's armband.
The top three players on last weeks captaincy poll were Harry Kane (39%), Sergio Agüero (24%) and Dimitri Payet (23%) which means over 50% of you should be happy fantasy managers this week. Our two low risk options Kane (10pts) and Agüero (16pts) both brought back good point hauls, whilst our high risk tip Wayne Rooney claimed 9pts after scoring the winner vs. Liverpool.
Gameweek 23 has a number of good candidates for the armband. Whilst we recommend you approach our high-risk candidates with caution on FPL, we believe they could be worth their weight in gold in daily fantasy football contests such as
FantasyBet.

The table above displays goals, assists, points per game, opposition goals conceded and odds to score with implied chance percentage. The data is from the player's
last three Premier League matches.
Low Risk
Sergio Agüero Vs. WHU (A)
He's back! If you were holding off Agüero until signs of better form then it's likely you've been spending the week figuring out how to squeeze him within your budget.
This week the Argentinean striker is the bookies favourite to score at any time with an implied chance of 51.28% following his brace against Crystal Palace.
West Ham are no pushovers at the back and have only conceded an average of one goal per game during their last three league matches. Whether they can contain one of the worlds best strikers though, is another question.
Harry Kane Vs. CRY (A)
Another striker who seemingly returned to form last week is Tottenham striker Harry Kane, who picked up a goal and assist against Sunderland last weekend.
Kane is currently on 12 goals for the season and also boasts the most shots on target this campaign, having already fired 38 towards goal.
Opposition Crystal Palace are having a torrid time defensively, conceding eight goals in their last three matches. If you dare gamble on somebody other than Agüero, Kane has the most tempting form and fixture.
Medium Risk
Wayne Rooney Vs. SOU (H)
Rooney also joins the long list of premium strikers to recently return to form. The Manchester United striker has now scored twice as many goals in January (4) as he previously had for the entire season (2).
He's currently going through a purple patch, with four goals and an assist in his last three Premier League matches and if he continues in this manner then anybody who gambles on him will reap the long-term rewards.
Had he been facing any easier opposition he'd have been a low risk candidate for this weekend, however Southampton are no pushovers and have only conceded one goal in their last three.
Romelu Lukaku Vs. SWA (A)
Both of the league's top goalscorer's (Lukaku & Vardy) have failed to find the back of the net in recent weeks but it's surely just a matter of time for the Belgian.
Lukaku has already converted 15 and assisted five this Premier League campaign, and now that Everton's tough run of fixtures (TOT, mci, che) is out of the way, we expect him to continue boosting his goal tally.
This weekend Everton travel to Swansea to face a side who are currently having a few troubles. The Swans have conceded an average of two goals per game in their last three and the stage looks set for Lukaku to return to goalscoring form.
High Risk
Georginio Wijnaldum Vs. WAT (A)
Every couple of months Newcastle new-boy Georginio Wijnaldum goes through an explosive stage where he racks up huge point scores, however the timing of these is largely unpredictable.
The midfielder has two goals and an assist from his last two matches, and will look to continue that this weekend as Newcastle look to capitalise on an out of form Watford outfit.
A combination of Ighalo's goal drought and poor defensive form has led to Watford recording four successive losses. With just four points in six matches, they currently have the worst form in the league.
Benik Afobe Vs. SUN (A)
Our next tip arrived during the January transfer window so first things first, welcome to the Premier League - and more importantly - welcome to the Fplbet captaincy tips article; Benik Afobe.
Bournemouth's £10 million man has got off to a great start in black and red, looking lively on his debut and then finding the net against Norwich in the Cherries 3-0 victory at Dean Court.
This weekend Bournemouth make the long trek up North to face Sunderland. Both teams will be eager for a win, so we expect this fixture to bring goals. If you're looking for a gamble in daily fantasy football then we recommend the former Wolves man.
