Captain Tips Gameweek 37 - Fantasy Premier League Tips

Share post on:
There's not really that much to recap on regarding captaincy decisions for gameweek 36 as it was very much a case of whether you had 'him' or not. Mr Agüero tallied up so many points that those who didn't hand him the armband are probably still weeping in their sleep. Fortunately, a huge 28.6% of you did opt for him as your captain and are subsequently revelling in his 46 points. We also tipped Alexis, and for the 12% of you out there that may of used our advice, we apologise, but with a double gameweek you may want to think twice about removing it so quickly. Here's a look at how our other candidates performed as captains (thankfully we called Agüero!): Low Risk: Agüero (46), Sânchez (4) Medium Risk: Benteke (4), Hazard (4) High Risk: Ulloa (10), N'Doye (4) Here's to hoping our Fantasy Premier League tips can give you a final push in your mini-leagues this weekend. LOW RISK

[mks_separator style="dashed" height="2"] [mks_col] [mks_one_half] Sergio Agüero vs SWA (A) After three goals and two assists last week there's no reason, other than an Arsenal double gameweek, that may leave you all pondering whether to keep Agüero as your captain. We backed him to win the Golden Boot award after being shunned from the six shortlisted players for the PFA Player of the Season award, and he's not failing to disappoint, netting eight times in five fixtures to take his overall tally for the season to 25. Swansea will prove a stern test for Pellegrini's side, and following a poor run of away form in 2015 and the prospect of a big point hauls from certain Arsenal players will leave some of you deciding against giving Agüero the armband. But just bare-in mind how those who did the same last gameweek must have felt come the end of it. [/mks_one_half] [mks_one_half] Alexis Sánchez vs MUN (A), SUN (H) Firstly, we'd like to send our dearest of condolences to those of you who elected Sánchez over Agüero last weekend following Arsenal's shock home defeat to Swansea on Monday evening. Arsenal's fine run of form finally came to an end as Garry Monk managed to stop the seemingly untameable Arsenal midfield by plaguing it with Swans, before a late Gomis header found its way past David Ospina. With two matches this gameweek it would be rude and probably immoral to remove Sánchez from our list of captain choices, and with an F.A Cup final and second place still up for grabs this season Wenger will be looking to bounce back from their recent defeat as quickly as possible. MEDIUM RISK

[mks_separator style="dashed" height="2"] [mks_col] [mks_one_half] Olivier Giroud vs MUN (A), SUN (H) We rarely see two players from the same side tipped in the same week but due to Arsenal's double gameweek we decided that a certain Frenchman, provided he finds his shooting boots once again, could be worth the armband. There will be no return to Old Trafford for Danny Welbeck, with Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger announcing the player remains side-lined, leaving the door open for Giroud to make up for missed opportunities in recent weeks. Following the announcement that Aaron Ramsey will be fit for Arsenal, Giroud will once again have the full backing of that Arsenal midfield artillery that has looked very positive since the turn of the year. [/mks_one_half] [mks_one_half] Christian Benteke vs SOU (A) If you're stupid enough to bet against one of our Arsenal nominees or Agüero this weekend, or you're just taking big risks to make up for lost ground in the final two weeks of FPL, then look no further than this Villain. Villa face a tricky early kick-off away to Southampton, who are still in the hunt for a fifth place finish, but will be full of optimism following their recent revival that looks certain to provide Villa Park with Premier League football next season. Benteke failed to provide any returns last weekend, but with 11 goals in ten games he's still one of the most in-form strikers in the Premier League. HIGH RISK

[mks_separator style="dashed" height="2"] [mks_col] [mks_one_half] Connor Wickham vs LEI (H), ARS (A) Here at fplbet we were so undecided which Sunderland players' deserve a punt this weekend that two of our writers ended up telling a Twitter follower to flip a coin when deciding between Jermaine Defoe and Connor Wickham. With captain choices at the back end of the season so crucial, we felt it was our duty to pick out a Sunderland player who could potentially provide decent points in their upcoming double gameweek. Connor Wickham fronts the Black Cats three man attack and we've elected the 22-year old as the player who will most likely provide for those willing to trust him with the armband. It's no doubt a high risk based on alternative fixtures, but for on chasing managers in mini-leagues, risks need to be taken with just two weeks to go. [/mks_one_half] [mks_one_half] Steven Gerrard vs CRY (H) Even if you hate Liverpool it will be sad to see Steven Gerrard play his final fixture at Anfield this weekend and with the Englishman netting twice in his last two outings he could turn out to be a decent outside option for this weekend. Despite taking a back seat for some of the season, Gerrard has still managed to score the most goals for Liverpool, following Daniel Sturridge's' injury woes and a final farewell wouldn't be complete without witnessing one of those Stevie strikes from 30-yards. Liverpool are still hunting a Europa League spot, after being all but mathematically out of contention for the Champions League, and Gerrard will want to help Brendan Rodgers prove he's the right man to drive Liverpool forward following his recent criticism.
