Captain Tips for Fantasy Premier League Gameweek 22

Who to captain in Fantasy Premier League Gameweek 22? We compare Kane, Sanchez and Lukaku to reveal who is the best captaincy option.

With Zlatan Ibrahimovic again taking the most-captained mantle in GW21, his late equaliser against Liverpool had fantasy football managers rejoicing countrywide. This week Zlatan misses out on our captain reckoning as Manchester United undertake a tricky assignment away to Stoke City at the Britannia. Several players and teams look well placed to score big points with many mismatches cropping up on the GW22 fixture list. Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal have favourable home matches against Swansea, Hull and Burnley respectively all of whom have dreadful away records.

Best Bet Harry Kane (£11.1m)

Harry Kane is on fire at the moment. Six goals and an assist in his last four games should tantalise the tastebuds of any FPL manager looking to score serious points this weekend. The England frontman celebrated becoming a father with a clinical hat-trick against West Brom and will be looking for more goals against a bruised Manchester City defence. City have enjoyed their best form at the Etihad but their recent defensive woes are alarming with Pep Guardiola's side conceding six goals in their last three games. Add to that a jittery John Stones, who has recently made a series of high-profile errors, and a wobbly Claudio Bravo, who has shipped 14 goals from the last 22 shots on target against him in the Premier League, and Kane will be licking his lips. Kane's record against City is excellent, with two goals in three PL games, including a penalty in Spurs' 2-1 win back in February. All City's ailments point to joy for Kane, whose anytime goalscorer odds are a whopping 7/4. Spurs' away form is blistering too, as Mauricio Pochettino's side have found the net eight times in their last two trips away from White Hart Lane.

One To Consider Alexis Sanchez (£11.9m)

The sight of Alexis Sanchez sulking on the bench after being substituted during Arsenal's 4-0 win over Swansea should not deter FPL managers this weekend. Sanchez has scored 14 league goals this season and has two goals and an assist in his last three games. His anytime goalscorer odds of 8/11 look generous but be wary of his home form Sanchez has scored just three of his 14 goals at the Emirates, the last coming way back in November. However, with Arsenal's game week 22 opponents Burnley enduring a terrible away record this should be the game to end the Chilean's home drought. The Clarets have let in 11 goals in their last five away matches, while Arsenal have scored 10 in their last five home games. With Sanchez in form and facing a porous defence, he provides a solid alternative to Kane this week.

Differential Romelu Lukaku (£9.6m)

Three goals and an assist in his previous four games suggest Romelu Lukaku is hitting an attractive streak of form. The Belgian striker has a fantastic record against Everton's GW22 opponents Crystal Palace, with four goals in his last seven games against the Eagles. Despite the introduction of Sam Allardyce, Palace are struggling for form and sit bottom of the form table having conceded nine goals in five games. Their home form is nothing to shout about either, with just a single victory in five matches and seven goals against. Mix in Lukaku's lethal away form three goals in Everton's last three away games and FPL managers have another presentable points-scoring prospect on their hands. Drawing odds of 6/4 to score anytime, Lukaku is a good value bet as he looks to add to his tally of 12 goals and four assists this season. Gameweek 18
