Captain Tips Gameweek 17 Fantasy Premier League Tips.

It's form vs fixture in this week's captain tips for Fantasy Premier League Gameweek 17. This week we compare Alexis Sanchez, Eden Hazard, Diego Costa, Harry Kane, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Romelu Lukaku & Divock Origi. All statistics in this article, both player and team, are taken from the last four gameweeks.

Which player is in the best form?

# Player G A PPG
1 Sanchez 6 2 12.25
2 Origi 4 1 8.25
3 Ibrahimovic 3 1 7.25
4 Costa 2 2 6.75
5 Kane 2 0 4.75
6 Hazard 1 0 4.5
7 Lukaku 2 0 4
Alexis Sanchez notched in Arsenal's 2-1 loss to Everton to continue his fine form of late. The Chilean has averaged a staggering 12.25-point average over the last four games, with his 23-point haul in Gameweek 14 making it likely he'll stay at the top for at least another week. Despite losing Philippe Coutinho to injury, Liverpool don't appear to be losing their scoring touch. 21-year-old Divock Origi has settled straight into the side since replacing the Brazilian against Sunderland in Gameweek 13, finding the net in each of his last four. Zlatan Ibrahimovic bagged a goal and assist against Crystal Palace as he is finding the form his 27.7% ownership were expecting, while Diego Costa has still served up an impressive 6.75 average despite delivering a meagre two points away to Sunderland - only his third blank of the season. At the other end of the scale, Harry Kane, Eden Hazard and Romelu Lukaku are struggling for form having delivered an average of less than five points over the last four. Both Kane and Lukaku's points have come courtesy of a single brace over that time, while Hazard has a solitary goal and missed Chelsea's last game against Sunderland through injury.

Which player has the easiest fixture in Gameweek 17?

# Player Vs GC BCC
1 Costa CRY (A) 8 6
1 Hazard CRY (A) 8 6
3 Kane BUR (H) 7 6
4 Ibrahimovic WBA (A) 6 8
5 Lukaku LIV (H) 6 5
6 Sanchez MCY (A) 5 4
7 Origi EVE (A) 3 4
Both Costa and Hazard will be licking their lips at the prospect of facing a Crystal Palace side that have kept only one clean sheet all season. Despite shutting Southampton out in Gameweek 14, Wayne Hennessey has still let in eight goals and the Eagles defence has allowed six big chances in four games - two statistics which bode well for the Chelsea attack. Kane's wonderful fixtures continue as they host a Burnley side who have managed just one point on the road. Surprisingly, the England international failed to find the net against Hull City last time out but he will fancy himself to score against a Burnley side that have conceded seven goals in their last four away games. Both Ibrahimovic and Lukaku are facing average defences this weekend. The Swede has the slightly more favourable tie against a West Brom side that have averaged two big chances conceded a game in the last four, although they may shut up shop against United like they tried to against Chelsea. Lukaku, meanwhile faces a Liverpool side that have conceded only five big chances and managed two clean sheets in their last four. Sanchez may struggle to keep up his form against a City side that have conceded five goals in four games and averaged just one big chance conceded in that time. Origi has the hardest fixture on table with a trip to Goodison Park - although form often goes out of the window in the Merseyside Derby and you can expect goals.

Who is the best captaincy option for Gameweek 17?

Considering both form and fixture, Diego Costa appears to be the safe bet this weekend. The Spaniard is in decent form, has the easiest fixture and offers consistency having scored 12 goals - seven of which have come away from home. As was outlined above, Costa has delivered in all but three matches and has also improved his discipline, giving him a much better chance of delivering bonus points. For those looking for more explosive returns, Harry Kane is another tempting option. The 23-year-old recently bagged braces at home to West Ham and Swansea City and could repeat the feat against Burnley after an unusually quiet game against Hull midweek. Divock Origi may just be a solid differential pick this weekend. The Belgian - who is owned by just 7.7% of players - has scored in every game he has started as well as in his substitute appearance against Sunderland and is the focal point for a free-scoring Liverpool side. While his fixture is the most difficult on paper, it is likely there will be goals in a high-octane derby and Origi is the most likely to profit.
