Captain Tips For Fantasy Premier League Gameweek 10.

It's form vs fixture vs odds in this week's captain tips for Fantasy Premier League Gameweek 10. This week we compare the premium options of Alexis Sanchez, Sergio Aguero, Diego Costa and Eden Hazard as well as mid-priced players Son Heung-Min, Christian Benteke, Romelu Lukaku and Roberto Firmino.

Which player is in the best form?

# Player PPG Goals Assists
1 Sanchez 6.25 1 2
= Son 6.25 2 1
3 Costa 6 2 1
4 Lukaku 5.75 2 1
5 Firmino 5.5 1 2
6 Hazard 5.25 2 0
7 Aguero 3.75 2 0
8 Benteke 3.25 2 0
There aren't too many genuine captaincy options in form at the moment, making picking a captain a difficult task. Alexis Sanchez and Son Heung-Min are both riding solid performances from Gameweek six, with their double figure hauls bolstering disappointing figures in recent weeks. Diego Costa's goals have kept him reasonably high in the form charts while - and I can't believe I'm about to say this - Romelu Lukaku is emerging as a consistent option after delivering attacking returns in five out of seven starts. Despite missing hauls in some big Liverpool victories, Roberto Firmino has been ticking along nicely, while Eden Hazard's return to form sees him rise to sixth. Finally Aguero and Benteke have slipped down the rankings, most likely as a result of their missed penalties in Gameweek 8.

Which player has the easiest fixture in Gameweek 10?

# Player Vs Goals Conceded Big Chances Conceded
1 Son LEI (H) 8 11
2 Firmino CRY (A) 7 7
3 Sanchez SUN (A) 7 4
4 Aguero WBA (A) 5 7
5 Lukaku WHU (H) 4 8
6 Benteke LIV (H) 3 7
7 Costa SOU (A) 2 2
= Hazard SOU (A) 2 2
Son has the easiest fixture according to recent form when Spurs host Leicester. The Foxes have been solid at the King Power but leaky on the road, conceding 13 goals in four away games this season. Son's chances of a decent haul are also improved by likely Foxes rotation ahead of their game ahead of a trip to Copenhagen. Firmino has a potentially profitable fixture against a Palace side that have let in seven in their last four although Scott Dann should return to steady the defence. Alexis Sanchez will also fancy his chances of breaking his three-game duck against bottom side Sunderland. Aguero finds himself against a West Brom side that are struggling to keep goals out at the moment, while Lukaku faces up to a Hammers side that are starting to tighten up but still giving chances away. Benteke will be hoping to score against his former club who, while they are tightening up, have a propensity for conceding at set pieces that could be exploited. Finally Chelsea face up to one of the toughest defences in the league at St Mary's.

Who is the bookies favourite to score in Gameweek 10?

# Player Odds To Score Implied Chance
1 Aguero EVENS 50.00%
2 Lukaku 21/20 48.78%
3 Sanchez 23/20 46.51%
4 Costa 6/4 40.00%
= Son 6/4 40.00%
= Firmino 6/4 40.00%
7 Benteke 21/10 32.26%
= Hazard 21/10 32.26%
Despite his recent downturn in form, the bookies still seem sur Aguero can find the net against the Baggies. While he hasn't scored in five games he has the class to bag a hige haul, reflected in his 50/50 implied chance of scoring. Romelu Lukaku's consistent form has himt just below Aguero on 48.78%, while Sanchez is also backed to score against David Moyes' side with a 46.51% chance. Son, Firmino and Costa are each rated at 40% chance of scoring, while Belgians Benteke and Hazard aren't given much of a shot at 32.26%.

Who is the best captaincy option for Gameweek 10?

# Player Form Fixture Odds Total
1 Son 1 1 4 6
2 Sanchez 1 3 3 7
3 Lukaku 4 5 2 11
= Firmino 5 2 4 11
5 Aguero 7 4 1 12
6 Costa 3 7 4 14
7 Hazard 6 7 7 20
8 Benteke 8 7 6 21
According to all three factors, Son is the man to back for those who haven't yet transferred it out. He faces a Foxes side who are awful on the road and before European games, making it a perfect storm for the Korean - as long as he isn't rested for Spurs' own Champions League tie. Alexis Sanchez should also be an option for those who are happy to trust the Chilean after disappointing returns against Burnley, Swansea and Middlesbrough. Lukaku and Firmino meanwhile offer decent alternatives for those who don't own the aforementioned two. While he has been disappointing of late, Aguero has the capability to score a huge haul and Pep Guardiola needs a response from a City side that hasn't won in a month. Costa has a similar appeal to the Argentine but faces a tougher defence and, as always, is at risk of a booking and missing out on bonus points. Hazard's recent form isn't enough to propel him up the rankings, although more performances like his last two could see him become a weekly captaincy contender. Finally, while I have a feeling Benteke will upset the odds against Liverpool, it's difficult to back him as captain ahead of other players fantasy managers should have in their squads.
