Captain Picks Gameweek 28 - Fantasy Premier League Tips

Share post on:
With a huge potential for returns over the next few days it is essential that your captaincy decision is as carefully selected as ever. This week none of the top seven sides face each other meaning points look set to come from the Premier League's big name players. Fantasy Premier League betting is difficult at the best of times, but ahead of this Gameweek narrowing down our captain choice proved a more mountainous task than ever. We eventually managed to come to a conclusion and put our full faith in a player by backing him across a number of websites and hopefully this week we'll be rewarded with the returns we've been so desperately longing for. If you're still struggling with who to trust with your captains armband, then here are five players that we think have the potential to work wonders this weekend...
Harry Kane vs. Swansea (H), QPR (A) or Kun Aguero vs. Leicester (H) [mks_col] [mks_one_half] [/mks_one_half] [mks_one_half] A decision that has echoed throughout the fantasy football community this week and one that's likely causing you a headache is whether to trust Harry Kane or Kun Aguero with your armband ahead of Gameweek 28. Kane may have two fixtures, but the 21-year old has been leading Tottenham's front line for a while now, and Spurs boss Pochettino may feel a rest is in order for the newly named Hurrikane. Kane certainly appears in better form than Aguero based on their last five Premier League games. The English striker has six goals to the Argentinians three, but the Manchester City forward is more likely to provide assists, with four to his name in those five games. [/mks_one_half] [/mks_col] City will look to bounce straight back from their away defeat to Liverpool that has left them just four points above Arsenal in the league. Leicester City shouldn't pose too much of a threat on paper, and after their 5-0 win over Newcastle during their last league fixture at the Etihad, it may be a similar outcome on Wednesday. [mks_col] [mks_one_half]Tottenham on the other hand will have the much discussed two fixtures this Gameweek. First they welcome Swansea, who have won their last two Premier League matches, followed by a London derby against struggling QPR. As we tossed and turned in our sleep we finally decided that we should put faith in our own country and back the man who will hopefully lead England's front line for many years to come. However, with Aguero essentially having a double Gameweek this Wednesday too (first half against Leicester and second half against Leicester) we could easily pay the price for not opting for City's star man.[/mks_one_half] [mks_one_half] [/mks_one_half] [/mks_col] A quick glance at the players statistics (based on their last 5 Premier League games) does however back up our decision: [mks_col] [mks_one_half] Harry Kane: Points: 42 (2, 13, 12, 11, 4) Goals: 6 Assists: 1 Shots: 20 SoT: 9 SA%: 45 [/mks_one_half] [mks_one_half] Kun Aguero: Points: 35 (5, 5, 11, 9, 5) Goals: 3 Assists: 4 Shots: 15 SoT: 6 SA%: 40 [/mks_one_half] [/mks_col]
Eden Hazard vs. West Ham (A) [mks_col] [mks_one_half] [/mks_one_half] [mks_one_half]The return of this seasons highest Fantasy Premier League point scorer is sure to make the captaincy decision even harder for managers. After Chelsea's League Cup victory, attention turns swiftly back to the Premier League on Wednesday, with a trip across London to face a West Ham side whose form has started to decline as of late. A heavy defeat to Crystal Palace at the Boleyn ground on Saturday ensured Sam Allardyce's men went winless in February and with Chelsea bidding to maintain their advantage over Manchester city which stands at five points with a game in hand we expect to see that continuing until their next fixture.[/mks_one_half] [/mks_col] Hazard has the potential to bring back decent returns in the form of goals and assists and with a week's break until their Champions League home leg against Paris St Germain, he is likely to featured the entire 90 minutes.
Charlie Austin vs. Arsenal (H), Tottenham (H) [mks_col] [mks_one_half]If you're feeling a little adventurous this week and then you've probably already looked towards Charlie Austin and his goal scoring form that's brought him 14 goals so far this season. The striker will undoubtedly lead the line for QPR against Arsenal and Tottenham in the coming few days, and after scoring against Hull, the 25-year old may have rediscovered his goal scoring prowess. Currently residing in 17th place, QPR will go into their remaining fixtures with survival as their main mission and whether they succeed or not will be largely dependant on Austin's form in the final months.[/mks_one_half] [mks_one_half] [/mks_one_half] [/mks_col] Despite missing the odd game due to suspension or short term injury, Austin has lead the line consistently for the whole season. With a lack of depth in the QPR strike force, you can guarantee that he'll feature in 180 minutes of football for the U's over this week meaning you'll pick up 8 points regardless of whether he finds the net or not. With a trip to the Nou Camp on the back of Pellegrini's mind and the risk of fatigue from three games in one week on Pochettino's, Austin is the only striker you rely upon being nailed on for the entire 90 across all of this weeks fixtures. Arsenal's form has been good recently but defence frailties has been a common feature throughout the season. Meanwhile, Spurs have conceded the highest number of penalties in the league so far this campaign, with the majority being away from home. This puts Austin in good contention to pick up goals this week, whether it be from creeping through Arsenal's back line or from the penalty spot.
Daniel Sturridge vs. Burnley (H) [mks_col] [mks_one_half] [/mks_one_half] [mks_one_half] Brendan Rodgers has claimed Sturridge will soon be back to his best and lead Liverpool's new formation after beginning on the bench against Manchester City in their 2-1 win on Sunday. That news will undoubtedly strike fear into Liverpool's next opponents Burnley, who have lost four of their last six Premier League fixtures. Sturridge's move away from Stamford Bridge in January 2013 has brought nothing but good fortune for the England International. Since returning from a lengthy injury it appears as though the 25-year old is now ready to fill the void left by former strike partner Luis Suarez who moved to Barcelona during the summer. [/mks_one_half] [/mks_col] With Liverpool's recent run of form a run that sees them unbeaten in 2015 the Anfield faithful are hopeful of yet another Champions League despite an unconvincing start to this season. Sturridge may have been out since with a number of injuries so far this campaign, but while Liverpool are peaking and young striker is regaining full fitness, some will take a gamble on him exploding back in to last seasons form at home to Burnley on Wednesday night.
