Gameweek 38 Tips - Fantasy Premier League Tips

Share post on:
Cast your memory back to gameweek 34, Liverpool geared up to take on West Brom and Hull in a double gameweek that saw the likes of Coutinho, Henderson and even Sturridge drafted in to many teams hopeful of a 3-digit point haul. 180 minutes and zero goals later marked a dramatic turn for Liverpool's Champions League hopes and left hundreds of thousands of FPL hopefuls staring at their 50-odd points in disbelief. Ever since then, gameweek 37 has been a focal point with Arsenal scheduled to face Man United and Sunderland in the last double gameweek of the Premier League calendar. As we eagerly awaited the attacking force consisting of the likes of Özil, Sánchez and Ramsey to wash away the bitter taste left in our mouth by the Scousers, at half time on Wednesday night that familiar feeling sunk in once again. A sturdy performance between the Sunderland sticks from the Romanian secretary of defence ensured that the Gooners attack bar a Walcott assist at United was kept at bay and remained pointless over 180 minutes. Never trust Arsenal. Gameweek 38 is now upon us and now's the time to carefully maintain your top spot or put your (foot) balls on the table with some transfer and captaincy gambles that could mark a miraculous turn of events. Here's quick recap of how our Fantasy Premier League tips performed last weekend: [mks_col] [mks_one_third]Best Bets (21 points): Ospina (10) Kolarov (1) Sánchez (5) Agüero (5)[/mks_one_third] [mks_one_third]Bargain Buys (21 points): Given (2) Van Aanholt (15) Cleverly (2) Vardy (2)[/mks_one_third] [mks_one_third]Differentials (9 points): Butland (0) Morgan (6) Gerrard (2) Cissé (1)[/mks_one_third] [/mks_col] Here's to hoping this weekend's differentials pack a bit more of a punch and prove the decisive factor in your mini-league success. GOALKEEPERS

[mks_separator style="dashed" height="2"] [mks_col] [mks_one_third] [mks_icon icon="fa-star" color="#3ec943" type="fa"] Best Bet - Lukasz Fabianski >As it stands, Fabianski is tied with Forster, Hart & Mignolet on 13 clean sheets with just one fixture to go and - somewhat contrary to popular belief - we fancy the Polish keeper to clinch the golden glove. This fixture marks the end of a successful season for Garry Monk as Swansea have secured their highest ever Premier League finish and broke their point record in the process. The Swans have won their last three games without conceding versus Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park making Fabianski a stand out choice to end his, and Swansea's, season a high. [/mks_one_third] [mks_one_third] [mks_icon icon="fa-money" color="#3ec943" type="fa"] Bargain Buy - Boaz Myhill Bench warmer extraordinaire; Boaz Myhill is another unlikely candidate but based on all the points he's been tallying up in recent weeks he doesn't look a bad bet once again. The Baggies visit the Emirates still booming with confidence after their 3-0 win against the Champions and will no doubt look to be a fork in the road of Arsenal's third place finish. Valued at a mere 4.1m, Myhill since standing in for an injured Ben Foster has recorded clean sheets against Man United, Chelsea & Liverpool so take him off your bench and give him a chance. [/mks_one_third] [mks_one_third] [mks_icon icon="fa-bar-chart-o" color="#3ec943" type="fa"] Differential - Jack Butland The 22-year old English keeper makes it two weeks on the bounce as our differential keeper having claimed a predictable clean sheet against the ever goal-shy Burnley. Whether it's the direct effect of Stevie G's imminent departure or the controversy surrounding Raheem Sterling, Liverpool seem somewhat unsettled both on and off the pitch. Owned by just 0.0%, Butland will be looking for another clean sheet and solid goalkeeping display to strengthen his bid for a chance at both club and international level. DEFENDERS

[mks_separator style="dashed" height="2"] [mks_col] [mks_one_third] [mks_icon icon="fa-star" color="#3ec943" type="fa"] Best Bet - Aaron Cresswell Sunderland's point against Arsenal was enough to grant them Premier League safety meaning a Newcastle loss and Hull win could send the Magpies in to the Championship. Obviously the best coach in the division will have something up his sleeve to ensure that doesn't happen, but just incase he somehow fails it's worth covering yourself with a Hammers defender. Aaron Cresswell will want to end his impressive first season in the Premier League with a clean sheet against a team who've failed to score against the West Ham in four of their last five meetings. [/mks_one_third] [mks_one_third] [mks_icon icon="fa-money" color="#3ec943" type="fa"] Bargain Buy - Jeffrey Schlupp In a toss up between Captain Morgan and Schlupp, we opted for the latter due to his slightly higher chance of attacking returns as Championship-bound QPR visit the King Power. Leicester secured their Premier League status with a 0-0 draw against Sunderland last week, concluding an impeccable run of form that seemed unlikely back in March. Valued just 4.5m, we are relishing the opportunity to watch Schlupp tear apart Nedum Onuoha's right side of defence and end the season with a classic clean sheet and assist. [/mks_one_third] [mks_one_third] [mks_icon icon="fa-bar-chart-o" color="#3ec943" type="fa"] Differential - Ryan Taylor As this is the final weekend of the season, we can afford to take a one-week punt on a player who isn't going to continue plaguing our squad in gameweeks to come. So without further ado, this week's ‘one-week punt' is Ryan Taylor who has recently fulfilled the duties of set piece taker, corner taker and who knows maybe even penalty taker. Owned by 0.1%, Raylor will have an important role to play as the Magpies hunt for three points with goals and a clean sheet coming at equal importance. MIDFIELDERS

[mks_separator style="dashed" height="2"] [mks_col] [mks_one_third] [mks_icon icon="fa-star" color="#3ec943" type="fa"] Best Bet - David Silva Some say look towards a certain Ivorian for his final match at Manchester City, but we think you should look no further than the in-form, better value choice of David Silva. Manchester City have won their last three at home to Southampton and with second place now secure thanks to Arsenal's draw midweek - the blues will now be playing with freedom. David Silva has already scored more league goals this season (12) than the previous two combined (11) and will look to continue his recent form that's seen him grab five assists and a goal in his last three. [/mks_one_third] [mks_one_third] [mks_icon icon="fa-money" color="#3ec943" type="fa"] Bargain Buy - Jonathan Walters Mid-season hat trick hero Jonathan Walters has piqued our interest as part of a Stoke side who have ended the season strongly with just one loss in their last six matches. He may not pass the recent form test, but the recent history test he passes with flying colours having scored in each of his last three appearances versus Liverpool at the Britannia (four goals). Valued at 5.1m, Walters will be looking to make history repeat itself with a goal whether it's from the spot or not that could move Liverpool out of a Europa spot and grant Stevie G a bitter departure. [/mks_one_third] [mks_one_third] [mks_icon icon="fa-bar-chart-o" color="#3ec943" type="fa"] Differential - Ashley Young Hull enter this fixture in need of a win, and Newcastle to draw or lose, to narrowly avoid the drop, but as far as history goes it's not looking good for Steve Bruce. The Tigers have lost all seven previous Premier League encounters with Manchester United, conceding 21 goals in process making in-form Ashley Young a stand out choice. Owned by just 2.3%, Young has three assists in his last three and should have no trouble extending that against a team who even managed to concede to Burnley. [/mks_one_third] [/mks_col] [mks_separator style="dashed" height="2"]

FORWARDS

[mks_separator style="dashed" height="2"] [mks_col] [mks_one_third] [mks_icon icon="fa-star" color="#3ec943" type="fa"] Best Bet - Sergio Agüero City have secured second and Southampton are making a late push for Europa following their 6-1 win, so if there's one thing this game guarantees it's a few goals. 25 goals and eight assists this campaign really does raise doubts as to why he wasn't shortlisted for PFA Player of the Year award, but he's more than silenced any doubters since. Over the last six weeks Agüero has been a point-magnet averaging 10 points a game with eight goals and three assists, so if you money's on anybody to go out with a bang, it should be him. [/mks_one_third] [mks_one_third] [mks_icon icon="fa-money" color="#3ec943" type="fa"] Bargain Buy - Leonardo Ulloa One of the many contributing factors to QPR's downfall has been their terrible away form that has seen them win just two of their last 23 games on the road. This weekend the R's travel to the King Power - having lost 6-0 last time out to Manchester City to face a Leicester side who recently survived the drop and are now oozing with confidence. Valued at 5.0m, Leonardo Ulloa will want to end his first Premier League season in style and having scored eight of his 10 goals at home, the scene looks set for the Argentinian. [/mks_one_third] [mks_one_third] [mks_icon icon="fa-bar-chart-o" color="#3ec943" type="fa"] Differential - Bafétimbi Gomis Who needs Bony when you've got Gomis? The French striker has immediately returned to his goal scoring ways following a brief spell at the sidelines with a hamstring injury. Known for last minute winners, Gomis' seven Premier League goals have won his team 10 points, two more than Diego Costa's 19 have won for Chelsea. Owned by 0.4%, if you're looking for a striker who's in-form and could close the gap in your mini league, then look no further than five goals in five games, Gomis.
