Wednesday was an evening of home domination with all seven hosts winning their respective encounters. In the process, Troyes slumped back into reality with their second loss on the bounce and Lacazette scored his first brace since November. Tip 1 Guingamp to upset the odds.
Guingamp, who have won their last three fixtures on the bounce, cross the water to face Ajaccio. The timing is perfect for the visitors, as they have hit a purple patch of form coming into February scoring seven and conceding just once in their last three matches. In comparison, Ajaccio are sitting perilously above the relegation zone, having lost all of their last three fixtures conceding eight and scoring once in the process. Our tip for
Mondogoal is
Jimmy Briand. The ex-France International notched a hat trick of assists in midweek so it's time for his teammates to return the favour.
Tip 2 Bastia to bounce back.
Following their 2-nil defeat to Monaco on Tuesday, Bastia will be fired up to make amends, and who better to face than bottom of the table Troyes. They seemed destined for relegation, trailing their nearest competition by nine points and safety by 15 points. Bastia's form has been very up and down, nevertheless, on home soil they are a different animal, with 100% of their wins this season coming at the Stade Armand Cesari. For this reason, we recommend stacking up on their backline on
Mondogoal; attacking full-back
Julian Palmieri is our first choice, but
Mathieu Peybernes and goalkeeper
Jean-Louis Leca are also great options.
Tip 3 PSG to overcome Marseille.
The biggest match of the weekend and all the pressure heaped on the Champions - what more is needed for an exciting spectacle? Paris Saint-Germain have always been the clear favourites for the title this season, however, they seem to have stepped up another level, with an extraordinary unbeaten run of 33 Ligue 1 matches and counting. If Marseille are to have any chance of becoming giant-killers, they will need to perform out of their skin and have a bit of luck on their side. However, we can see PSG sneaking this one with
Zlatan Ibrahimovic and
Angel Di Maria the game-changers once again on
Mondogoal.
Tip 4 Goals galore as Caen host Reims.
There's everything to play for in this match; Caen are vying for a place inside the top four while Reims are frantically trying to escape the grip of the relegation zone. The outcome could perhaps be determined on who finds the net first our money would be on either
Andy Delort of Caen or
Nicolas De Preville of Reims. When this pair are firing on all cylinders, there's nothing to stop them; Delort has scored 8, to Preville's 6 this season, nevertheless, the latter is in better form with a Man of the Match performance on Wednesday. Goals are expected and this duo will be at the heart of things, despite being at other ends of the pitch.
Tip 5 Nantes' to extend unbeaten run to 13 matches.
We have backed The Canaries to continue their unbeaten run for three weeks running now, and we have been correct each and every time. So can they do the business again? Their opponents Toulouse have been in terrible form, having lost their last six consecutive matches; so we are confident that Nantes can stretch this to seven. As mentioned in the past on many occasions, Nantes are extremely well drilled, which is why they've conceded an average of 0.8 goals in their last 11 matches. We look to their defence for
Mondogoal selection with
Ermir Lenjani,
Lorik Cana and
Youssouf Sabaly all excellent choices.
