Fantasy Championship Five Tips For Gameweek 34

Share post on:
Welcome back to another Fantasy Championship five tips for Gameweek 34 article. Joe Dean returns with his top five tips ahead of Gameweek 33 in the English Championship. The Championship had a rare round of games where nearly all of them went with the form-book. None of the top 7 lost while none of the bottom 10 sides managed a win. Hull maintained their lead at the top while Brighton responded to their heavy defeat at Cardiff by battering Bristol City. Preston made it 4 straight wins with a 2-1 result over bottom side Charlton and Middlesbrough got a much needed win at home to an in form Cardiff side. Off the field things were more promising for Cardiff as the club have finally made the last payment of a long standing debt to their former owner. Other than this, it's been a rare few days of tranquillity in the Championship, which is sure to go out of the window as soon as kick off comes.

Tip 1 Brighton's challenge to pick up pace again.

Just when Brighton's season began to look as if it were floundering again, Chris Hughton and his players found the right formula at Ashton Gate. A resounding 4-0 success over a side that had been improving is sure to install a new sense of belief that an automatic promotion push is possible. They host a Leeds side who have been indifferent of late although there was nothing indifferent about Lewis Cook's 40 yard equaliser against Fulham. However the Yorkshire club are without a win in 5 and will not be looking forward to a long trip to the South Coast to play one of the best sides in the division. Brighton should win this comfortably. Jamie Murphy (MO:N/A, FB:6.0m) has been in fine form while Anthony Knockaert (MO:N/A, FB:8.0m)  has turned out to be a very shrewd piece of business by the Seagulls.

Tip 2 Forest to bounce back.

After such a lengthy run of games without defeat, it was inevitable that Nottingham Forest would lose 2 on the bounce when they eventually lost. Dougie Freedman will be desperate to get back to winning ways quickly and a home game against Bristol City gives them a great opportunity to do this. The Robins had gone on a run of 3 straight wins before being dismantled by Brighton, a result that may have seriously hammered morale. Home advantage should see Forest in for a comfortable afternoon. Matt Mills (MO:7.7m, FB:5.5m) is always a solid inclusion while Nelson Oliveira (MO:7.7m, FB:6.5m) is their main goal threat.

Tip 3 Rotherham's struggle to continue.

Rotherham's situation is looking incredibly dire at the moment and Neil Warnock is going to have to use all his experience to get them out of trouble. Another defeat at Reading means they are now 6 points adrift of safety and the Millers are running out of games. They host a Brentford side fresh from an impressive 3-0 triumph over Wolves. The Bees are surely out of the play off race but will be desperate to build momentum for a promotion push next season. Brentford should have too much quality for Rotherham and their talisman Alan Judge (MO:14.5m, FB:8.0m) has been in sensational form this season. David Button (MO:4.8m, FB:5.5m) has established himself as one of the best keepers outside the Premier League and could be the man to earn Brentford the points at the weekend.

Tip 4- Goals at Craven Cottage

Fulham and Middlesbrough produced one of the games of the season when the pair met in the Spring of 2015 with Fulham running out 4-3 winners in a game that had everything. Challenging for automatic promotion, only a win would do for Boro as they sent their keeper forward for a late set piece with the score at 3-3. Fulham cleared and Ross McCormack (MO:11.7m, FB:12.0m) raced away to complete his hat trick and an unlikely Fulham victory. A game with anything like the drama that took place in that game and those going to Craven Cottage are in for a treat. McCormack will want to replicate his exploits from that 7 goal thriller while Tom Cairney (MO:10.1m, FB:7.0m) also has potential to cause Karanka and his men all kinds of problems. Jordan Rhodes (MO:7.5m, FB:12.0m)  has yet to really get going for his new side but might be see this game as the perfect opportunity considering Fulham's woeful defensive record.

Tip 5 Blackburn to make Ewood Park a fortress

When at Norwich, Paul Lambert made his name for going over 2 years without suffering consecutive defeats. Although that may have gone out of the window at his new club, it's vital that he gives his new players that mentality. After a plucky display at Derby which ultimately ended in defeat, Blackburn welcome fellow strugglers MK Dons to Lancashire this Saturday. A win for Karl Robinson's side would see them leapfrog Rovers but again home advantage should see Blackburn through. This has to be billed as a must win for Blackburn to pull clear of the bottom 3. Without Ben Marshall (MO:9.7m, FB:9.5m), Rovers season would be in an even worse state and his quality should shine through on Saturday. Shane Duffy (MO:6.8m, FB:5.0m) will be vital if his side are to keep a clean sheet.
