Braveheart's GW23 review:
After my run of seven green arrows in a row came to an end in GW22 with a small red, I'm right back in the green this week with a sizeable 48k green arrow to cut my overall ranking by 36.6%. I'm definitely feeling good about the way my season has been going lately and I hope to keep the momentum going as we enter the crunch point of the season (at least three doubles back-to-back followed shortly by a big blank gameweek).
I ended up with 85 points and now have an overall ranking of 83k. My strong performance was down to Dallas (12), Justin (9), Captain Bruno (14), Son (10), Gundogan (13), Salah (7), Watkins (9) and Bamford (6). In my last article I said that I was growing frustrated with Robertson. That remains the case, especially as Liverpool do not look even close to their best and now have a tricky fixture against Leicester on the horizon.
Braveheart's GW24 reveal:
I go into GW24 with 2 free transfers and £1.0m in the bank. The only chips I have left are my triple captain and wildcard. Given that there are a few doubles on the horizon, it is likely that I will be using my triple captain very soon. However, I won't be using it this week. Pep roulette scares me and now that Harry Kane is back fit, I think there may be better triple captain opportunity coming soon. If one of the Tottenham blanks are re-arranged for GW26, then Harry Kane will have a double against Burnley (h) and one of Fulham (a), Aston Villa (a) or Southampton (h) (if Southampton progress in the FA Cup and they are currently winning 1-0 thanks to Ings). So, the triple captain is not going to be delpoyed this week.
Man City, Everton, Burnley and Fulham have the doubles this week. At the time of writing, I have Dias and Gundogan from City and Pope from Burnley, with zero representation from Everton or Fulham. If I want to get Harry Kane into my team next week, I think it may be sensible for me to save one of my two transfers this week. This would mean forgoing DCL as an Everton asset and using one free transfer to bring in another City player (most likely Cancelo for Robertson, at long last). Antonio is currently flagged though so my plans may need to be adjusted later in the week depending on more information about his fitness and the blanks/doubles.
My squad heading into GW24 (if I make my planned transfer) is as follows:
- Pope v Fulham (h) and Crystal Palace (a)
- Dias v Tottenham (h) and Everton (a)
- Cancelo v Tottenham (h) and Everton (a)
- Dallas v Arsenal (a)
- Salah v Leicester (a)
- Fernandes v West Brom (a)
- Son v Man City (a)
- Gundogan (captain) v Tottenham (h) and Everton (a)
- Bamford v Arsenal (a)
- Watkins v Brighton (a)
- Antonio v Sheffield United (h)
- My likely bench order:
- McCarthy v Wolves (h)
- Justin v Liverpool (h)
- Soucek v Sheffield United (h)
- Coufal v Sheffield United (h)
The team is not set in stone until the deadline so please follow me at @FPLBraveheart on Twitter for any updates. All the best and I hope everyone reading gets green arrows in GW24. But, most importantly, stay safe out there (or, more accurately, at home)!
