Brighton vs Chelsea

The first Premier League offering of 2020 takes us to The AMEX, as Brighton play host to Chelsea and after getting the better of Bournemouth last weekend, Graham Potters' men have managed to put further daylight between themselves and the bottom three.

They play host to a Chelsea side, which came from behind on Sunday, as they got the better of their crosstown rivals Arsenal and in turn solidified their current top four standing in the table.

Prediction: Brighton 0-2 Chelsea

Burnley vs Aston Villa

Back to back defeats for Burnley means the Clarets start the decade lying 13th in the Premier League table and manager Sean Dyche will know that a return to winning ways, is something that needs to soon be on the agenda.

On New Year's Day, they play host to Aston Villa and after the West Midlands outfit lost to Watford on Saturday, Dean Smith's men have now lost five of their last six league outings.

Prediction: Burnley 2-1 Aston Villa

Newcastle vs Leicester

Newcastle are another outfit that suffered successive Premier League defeats and failure to pick up any points from those two games, it means that the Tyneside outfit have now dropped back into the bottom half of the table

Wednesday sees them play host to Leicester and with the Foxes possessing an eleven point cushion over Manchester United in fifth, they will be confident of finishing the season in the top four.

Prediction: Newcastle 0-3 Leicester

Southampton vs Tottenham

It is fair to say that Southampton have become one the form teams in the division as of late and manager Ralph Hasenhuttl, will be hoping their recent run of results carries over into the start of the New Year.

For that to happen, they will need to get the better of a Tottenham side that has stuttered recently and failure to win at St Mary's may just nudge Jose Mourinho into the transfer market.

Prediction: Southampton 1-2 Tottenham

Watford vs Wolves

Is the great escape on for Watford? You would have to say that after recent results, there is every chance that it is and now manager Nigel Pearson will hope that his players can keep this momentum going deep into 2020.

Wednesday sees them play host to Wolves and after being edged out by Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday, Nuno Espirito Santo will hope that his players can bounce back in perfect fashion.

Prediction: Watford 1-1 Wolves

Norwich vs Crystal Palace

Norwich may not have won any of their last seven Premier League outings and it is that run that sees them sit firmly at the bottom of the table. However, Daniel Farke's men did give a good account of themselves at home to Tottenham on Saturday

This Wednesday sees them play host to Crystal Palace and after the Eagles picked up a point away at Southampton, manager Roy Hodgson will be hoping for a similar performance this time around.

Prediction: Norwich 2-1 Crystal Palace

West Ham vs Bournemouth

The year begins and it is fair to suggest, that this is the first relegation ‘six-pointer' of the year and one that sees West Ham embarking on a post Manuel Pellegrini era, as he was given his marching orders at the weekend.

The Hammers play host to a struggling Bournemouth side and after their defeat to Brighton on Saturday, Eddie Howe's men are now bracing themselves for what looks to be a relegation scrap.

Prediction: West Ham 1-0 Bournemouth

Manchester City vs Everton

All Manchester City can hope for is a top four finish and make sure that they have a Champions League insurance policy, so that if they do not win this year edition of the competition, they still have a ticket to the following one.

This Wednesday sees them play host to Everton, while under new manager Carlo Ancelotti, it has been a perfect start with back to back wins and if that is to continue, then it is going to take quite the performance at the Etihad.

Prediction: Manchester City 2-1 Everton

Arsenal vs Manchester United

When Mikel Arteta took the Arsenal job, there was no doubting that there was a lot of work to be done and after defeat to Chelsea on Sunday, it seems as if the task in hand is bigger than everyone first thought.

Life doesn't get much easier for the Gunners on Wednesday, as they play host to Manchester United and they will be confident of picking up a win to solidify their European hopes for next season.

Prediction: Arsenal 1-2 Manchester United

Liverpool vs Sheffield United

Liverpool chalked another win on Sunday and that means that they have dropped just two points all season and with the Premier League title all but secured, the next step in their invincible quest takes place on Thursday.

They play host to a Sheffield United side who have picked up one point from the last six on offer and after finally losing away from home on Sunday, Chris Wilder's men may struggle on the road once again.

Prediction: Liverpool 2-0 Sheffield United
