Liverpool vs Watford

The weekend's action gets underway at Anfield, as Liverpool play host to Watford and after getting the better of Bournemouth last Saturday, Jurgen Klopp's men are guaranteed to be top of the table at Christmas.

They play host to a Watford side, who have installed Nigel Pearson as manager and although he oversaw last Saturday's goalless draw with Crystal Palace, this will be his first piece of official business.

Prediction: Liverpool 2-0 Watford

Burnley vs Newcastle

Burnley's miserable form in the capital continued last weekend, as they were mauled by a red hot Tottenham and after shipping five goals in North London, the Clarets have now lost their last three league outings

They will look to return to winning ways this weekend, as they play host to a Newcastle side who are now unbeaten in their last three, having picked up seven points from the last nine on offer.

Prediction: Burnley 1-1 Newcastle

Chelsea vs Bournemouth

It's been a rather indifferent spell for Chelsea as of late and after losing two of their last three league outings, perhaps manager Frank Lampard will look to the January transfer window for some extra reinforcements.

This Saturday, the Blues play host to a Bournemouth side who have really hit the skids as of late and after losing their last five league outings, a relegation scrap in the New Year may be on the horizon.

Prediction: Chelsea 2-0 Bournemouth

Leicester vs Norwich

Leicester have been simply unstoppable as of late and after getting the better of Aston Villa on Sunday, the Foxes have now recorded an eighth straight league win a result that subsequently created a new club record.

They will look to extend that even further on Saturday, as they play host to Norwich and although the Canaries have been easy on the eye, a more pragmatic approach would not go a miss either.

Prediction: Leicester 3-1 Norwich

Sheffield United vs Aston Villa

The Blades returned to winning ways on Sunday and after getting the better of Norwich at Carrow Road, you would have to say that of the promoted teams, Chris Wilder's men are the most suited to staying up this season.

They play host to another promoted side this Saturday, as Aston Villa come to town and although they are a handful in attack, their defence has a continual habit of letting them down.

Prediction: Sheffield United 2-1 Aston Villa

Southampton vs West Ham

Southampton seemingly find themselves taking part in another relegation ‘six-pointer' this weekend and after being unfortunate on Tyneside last Sunday, Ralph Hasenhuttl knows that his side must be more ruthless in front of goal.

He will hope that ruthless streak is on show, when West Ham make the trip to the South Coast and after losing to Arsenal on Monday, the pressure is once again on the shoulders of Manuel Pellegrini.

Prediction: Southampton 1-1 West Ham

Wolves vs Tottenham

Wolves unbeaten run continues and although they were held by Brighton on Sunday, you would have to say that now they are starting to win more often and this is reflected in their current league position.

They start the weekend ahead of Tottenham and it is they who they play host to on Sunday, with the outcome set to have serious ramifications for both sides hopes of a top four finish.

Prediction: Wolves 2-3 Tottenham

Manchester United vs Everton

What a week it has been for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and after getting the better of both Jose Mourinho and Pep Guardiola, he must now deal with the fearsome presence of another goal machine turned club legend.

That's because Duncan Ferguson will once again be at the Everton reigns this Sunday and after getting the better of Chelsea last week, he will hope for more of the same this time around.

Prediction: Manchester United 2-2 Everton

Arsenal vs Manchester City

After a comeback win over West Ham on Monday night, Freddie Ljungberg has finally recorded a first win as Arsenal manager and although there would have been a small period of celebration, the focus now shifts to Sunday.

That's because Manchester City come to the Emirates and after losing out in the Manchester derby last week, Pep Guardiola's men will certainly have a point to prove against the Gunners.

Prediction: Arsenal 1-2 Manchester City

Crystal Palace vs Brighton

The ‘M23 Derby' a derby that for all intents and purposes is not really a derby and although Crystal Palace and Brighton are separated by a long stretch of motorway, there is no doubting how hotly contested this game is.

Both sides only managed a point at the weekend and although that would have been a welcome addition to their respective tallies, nothing more than three will be the objective on Monday night.

Prediction: Crystal Palace 2-0 Brighton
