Crystal Palace vs Liverpool
Another weekend of Premier League action is on the horizon as Crystal Palace play host to Liverpool and with Roy Hodgson's men finding a little bit of form as of late, they will look to bloody the noses of the new league leaders.
The Merseyside outfit have returned to the top, after getting the better of Tottenham on Wednesday and now they are back at the summit, it might be difficult to remove them from their lofty perch.
Prediction: Crystal Palace 1-2 Liverpool
Southampton vs Manchester City
While although Southampton failed to get the better of Arsenal on Wednesday night, they did at least move back into third place and with Manchester City making the long trip to the South Coast, this will be an interesting test for Ralph Hasenhuttl's men.
With City being held to draws in their last two encounters, there is an obvious lack of firepower on show and Pep Guardiola knows his charges cannot cede anymore ground to the teams at the top.
Prediction: Southampton 1-1 Manchester City
Everton vs Arsenal
There's suddenly an upward swing for Everton, as the Toffees have come out on top in their last two league outings and when you consider the opposition of Chelsea and Leicester, you would have to say it is a job well done by Carlo Ancelotti's men.
They will now look to extend their winning run to three, as they play host to an Arsenal side who have not won any of their last six and are hovering precariously close to the relegation zone.
Prediction: Everton 2-1 Arsenal
Newcastle vs Fulham
At 2-1 up on Wednesday night, things were looking rather pretty for Newcastle against Leeds. Unfortunately, four unanswered goals for the Elland Road outfit at home, meant the Magpies were sent packing with their tails between their legs.
The job now, is to bounce back as quick as possible and if they are to do so, they will have to get the better of a Fulham side who have earned five points from the last nine that have been on offer.
Prediction: Newcastle 1-0 Fulham
Brighton vs Sheffield United
Are we past the point where Brighton can be considered unlucky or are the Seagulls, simply not up to scratch? If we are being hyper-critical, you would have to say that it is the latter and if Graham Potter's men do not improve, a relegation battle looks like being their remit for the New Year.
While Sheffield United can only but improve and when you consider that the Blades have picked up just a point from the first 39 on offer, the struggle is continuing for Chris Wilder and his players.
Prediction: Brighton 2-1 Sheffield United
Tottenham vs Leicester
Tottenham's impressive unbeaten run has come to an end and now the question is whether the North Londoners have the stomach to pick themselves off the ground and go again. If they do, then they will have to roll their sleeves up to get the better of Leicester this Sunday.
The Foxes lacked bite against Everton in midweek and therefore found themselves being overtaken by Southampton in the table. Now though, they will look to overturn Spurs by the end of the week.
Prediction: Tottenham 2-0 Leicester
Manchester United vs Leeds
Manchester United may find themselves lying sixth in the table at present, but they are perhaps the wildcard in all of this and with a game in hand over the nearest rivals, the picture could become a lot brighter for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
In the meantime, they will need to keep up their largely winning league form and next up is the visit of Leeds, who managed to put five goals past Newcastle at Elland Road on Wednesday night.
Prediction: Manchester United 2-0 Leeds
West Brom vs Aston Villa
The Allardyce era will soon begin at The Hawthorns and although Big Sam has never been relegated as a Premier League manager, his appointment as the new manager of West Brom will arguably be his toughest challenge to date.
A challenge that starts with a local derby and with Aston Villa dropping points at home to Burnley on Thursday night, Dean Smith will hope that his players have better fortunes on the road.
Prediction: West Brom 1-2 Aston Villa
Burnley vs Wolves
Burnley are once again playing like the Burnley of old and that means Sean Dyche has a spirited bunch of players and when that happens, it means the Clarets increase their chances of picking up much needed league points.
While Wolves are always on the hunt for additional rewards and after getting the better of Chelsea on Tuesday, it at least showed that there are goals in the team when Raul Jimenez is absent.
Prediction: Burnley 1-1 Wolves
Chelsea vs West Ham
It has not been a good week for Chelsea, as the West London outfit have lost their last two league outings and with the Blues now lying seventh in the table, manager Frank Lampard knows that nothing less than a win will do on Monday night.
If they are to bounce back, they will need to get the better of a West Ham side who have lost just one of their last six league matches and David Moyes will certainly feel that his players are up for the fight.
Prediction: Chelsea 2-1 West Ham
