Gameweek 11 Fixture Preview

Share post on:
By PaulT Hi troops, another week has passed in the FPL and I don't know about you but my team had an absolute stinker last weekend. Not even the NFL meets EPL clash at Wembley was enough to bring me any joy but I'm sure many of you will be wondering what I'm on about and will have had a great GW10. We have another round of fixtures to look forward to and hopefully plenty of fireworks (get it??!!), so without further ado, here we go….

AFC Bournemouth v Manchester United

The early game takes us down to the South Coast and to the Vitality where the Home side will be hoping to spring what would still be considered an upset against the up and down Red Devils. Howe's men are undefeated in their lt 6 matches in all competitions and confidence is high after winning 3-0 at Fuljam. They made changes for the League Cup in the week, so expect the likes of Wilson, Brooks and Fraser to come back in. Josh King has missed a few games and if fit, the formation may change to accommodate him. Jose will have been pleased with a 2-1 win over Everton at Old Trafford, but the 412 step penalty from Pogba was less of a highlight. The Frenchman is a great player but you often feel he detracts from that with things like that penalty run up. Feed cam back in last time out and Lukakau was dropped to the bench so team selection will be interesting again. Rashford may get his chance to impress. Prediction BOU 1-1 MNU

Cardiff City v Leicester City

A match that will be very emotional for all involved as the Foxes come to Wales hoping to put behind them the tragic events of last weekend. The disaster that unfolded on Saturday night will cast a massive shadow here, but for the Leicester players it is a chance to win for their fallen chairman. They will hope to channel their emotions in the correct way but it will be a difficult. Balancing act for Puel to get the players in the right frame of mind. Key men like Schmeichel, Maguire and Vardy will again be vital. Cardiff will be hoping to play well and pick up 3 points, but I would wager even the most ardent Bluebirds fan wouldn't begrudge Leicester here. For Warnock's men, the return to form of Patterson is welcomed and Arter should return after missing out at Anfield. Prediction CAR 1-2 LEI

Everton v Brighton & Hove Albion

Everton welcome Chris Hughton and his side to Goodison and will be hoping to continue their good recent form, their 3 game winning streak coming to an end despite playing well at Man Utd. Silva has a clean bill of health and we could finally see the debut of Yerry Mina after his switch from Barcelona. Keane and Zouma have been playing well so it may be harsh on them but big money signings do command places in general. Richarlison has been patchy playing up top on his own, so we may see Tosun start alongside. Brighton got a good 3 points at home to Wolves, with that man Murray on the score sheet again. It was their 3rd straight 1-0 win and the Seagulls will most likely be unchanged for this one. Kayal has been impressing in the midfield and he may well be key in breaking up attacks and getting Brighton moving in the right direction. Prediction EVE 3-1 BHA

Newcastle United v Watford

The Toon Army will turn up on Saturday hoping that they will finally see their side show up this season as they entertain a Watford side fresh from a morale boosting 3-0 win over Huddersfield. Rafa's men played out dull 0-0 in Southampton, but they will have been happy with the point given their poor run. The Magpies will hope to pick up 3 points here and if they are to win they will need their creative layers like Shelvey nd Ritchie to show up. Rondon was back fro the bench vs Saints, so should be back in the starting XI for this one. Watford looked back to their early season form winning last time out, and they will look to the likes of Hughes and the impressive Doucoure to provide the chances for Success up top. Prediction NEW 2-2 WAT

West Ham United v Burnle

The clash of the Clarets here as Dyche brings his men to the London Stadium to face a West Ham side who got a good point at Leicester, but may have been affected also by the tragic events after that game. Noble is suspended after his red card in that game, so should be replaced by Obiang as he was in midweek in the cup. Expect to see Arnautovic play alongside Snodgrass up top as the Hammers options get stretched due to so many injuries. Burnley have lost heir las 3, but those have included defeats to both City and Chelsea and they will look back to an emphatic 3-0 win in the same fixture last season. Lennon should return after an illness and Gudmundsson will hope to continue his good recent form too. Prediction WHU 2-1 BUR

Arsenal v Liverpool

The 1st of 2 Saturday evening games sees the undefeated Reds make the journey to the Emirates to face an Arsenal side who had been in good form before stuttering last time out at Palace. 2 penalties given away were ultimately their downfall, and the defence will have to be on top of their game if they are to deny Klopp's men here. Xhaka's inexperience at fullback is a worry, but the potential return of Ramsey in midfield provides a boost. Expect only one of Lacazette and Aubameyang to start. Liverpool come into the fixture hoping to keep their excellent league form up and will be boosted by the potential return of both Henderson and Keita to the lineup. Shaqiri has played well on the right and should retain his place. The Reds will hope to keep pace at the top as they look to have their best title push since 2014. Prediction ARS 1-2 LIV

Wolverhampton Wanderers v Tottenham Hotspur

The last game of Saturday kicks off at 7.45 so will cause ructions in many a household as the competing for Saturday night telly takes on a new dimension. Wolves have lost their mojo over the past couple of games, losing at Brighton in their last game, but will be looking forward to the visit of a Spurs side looking to bounce back from a defeat to City last time out. Wolves have been relatively settled in terms of selection, but expect to see Jota restored to the starting line up in place of Traore. Boly and his fellow defenders will nee to be on form to stop Tottenham here. Attack is Spurs strongest point, and the news that Alli has committed himself to a new contract is a boost. Son scored 2 vs West Ham in the cup, and could push himself into starting contention here. Prediction WOL 1-1 TOT Manchester City v Southampton Sunday kicks off at the Etihad as the champions welcome former manager Mark Hughes and his Southampton team for what on paper would appear to be a straightforward home win. City are motoring along nicely in the league and sit top going into these fixtures. They may rotate the squad with Champions League duty ahead, so look out for the likes of Jesus, Sane and De Bryne to start. Saints will come in hope rather than expectation, but Hughes will expect at least a committed performance from his men. As always for away sides here, the defence will need to be on top and Cedric has performed well in recent weeks alongside Bertrand and Hoedt. IT will still be a tough task, and I expect a home win. Prediction MNC 4-1 SOU

Chelsea v Crystal Palace

Stamford Bridge is host to this London Derby, with the home side in good fettle. Chelsea smashed 4 past Burnley last week and they come into this match in good confidence having also won midweek in the cup. Their recent games have saw Loftus-Cheek come more and more into contention and he could satrt this weekend. Sarri will also hope to have his talisman Hazard back after he has missed their last 3 games. Giroud is a doubt so expect Morata to retain his place from the cup win. Hodgson's men fought back to draw with Arsenal last week, with Milivojevic showing massive cojones to step up and stick 2 pens away after missing at Everton. Zaha remains their biggest threat, and Meyer may come into midfield to offer a bit of spark. Prediction CHE 3-1 CRY

Huddersfield Town v Fulham

Monday Night Football brings the curtain down on the weekends action and this is a crucial match at the bottom of the table. Huddersfield were well beaten ast time out and Wagner will hope for a reaction here. The Terriers have been disappointing in front of goal so will have to improve in that area. Mounie and Depoitre are the main forwards but ned supply so Mooy needs to start producing the for he showed ast season. Fulham have been inconsistent but do have goals in the team with Mitrovic, even if he has fallen short in recent weeks. Vietto and Schurrle provide creativity but Bettinelli in goals has been in frm and they ill hope he continues that this week. Prediction HUD 1-1 FUL Let me know what you think in the comments, and here's to a good week ahead. Until Next week… LETS GO!!! PaulT Follow @fplbet for weekly fantasy features, guides and tips.
