This Week's Top Premier League Punts...

A GOAL FEST AT CARROW ROAD

MANCHESTER CITY SHUT UP SHOP

When you think just how much attacking talent that Manchester City have at their disposal, it is almost staggering that they have overlooked purchasing competent defenders and although you can argue that they more than often score their way out of trouble, that plan did not work last Saturday.

The footballing world was stunned, as they lost to Norwich at Carrow Road and although you wouldn't want to be the team that goes up against City next, there might need to be a change of tact from Pep Guardiola this weekend.

Watford supply the opposition and when you consider that City have yet to play in a Premier League fixture this season that has been under 3.5 total goals, another goal haul could be on the agenda this Saturday.

At the same time, perhaps defeat to Norwich will nudge Pep Guardiola into undertaking a more pragmatic approach at the Etihad and not to mention Watford will look to be a lot less porous than in May's F.A. Cup Final.

Therefore, it could be a game that although will see City bounce back to winning ways, it won't be as rampant as their other three wins this season and that's why under 3.5 total goals at odds of 2.10 should be heavily considered.

Summary: Manchester City win, but it is back to basics this weekend.

BOURNEMOUTH'S STREAK FINALLY COMES TO AN END

Bournemouth have now played five games in a row that have ended in Both Teams To Score (BTTS) and although it means it is entertaining for the neutral, it can only be considered as a point of frustration for manager Eddie Howe.

The Cherries seem to have little issue when scoring goals, but the fact that they have yet to keep a clean sheet in this current Premier League campaign, is a run that cannot continue for an extended period of time.

This could be a game where Howe sees his players record a first clean sheet of the season and especially when you consider the fact that Southampton are not the hottest act in front of goal these days.

Of course, by the same token it could well be that Bournemouth suffer their first shut out of the season and if you think there will be at least one clean sheet at St Mary's on Friday, you can get odds of 2.25.

Summary: One or more teams keep it clean on the South Coast

CAN LIVERPOOL MAKE IT SIX OF THE BEST?

There's no doubt that Frank Lampard's Chelsea are now finding their feet, something that was no less evident than in the Blues emphatic win against Wolves last Saturday and although confidence will be high in the camp, it will come under a severe test this weekend.

That's because league leaders Liverpool make the journey to West London on Sunday and after recording a perfect start to the campaign, Jurgen Klopp and his players will look to make six wins from six.

Not only that but by starting the weekend five points clear of arch-rivals Manchester City, that is not a gap that they will want to see eroded anytime soon and that's why it is little surprise that they are favourites at 1.95.

However, that is not the tip we are going for in this game and because Chelsea are growing in stature under their new manager, they will be confident of getting some form of positive result at Stamford Bridge.

The fact that Chelsea have conceded as many goals as they have scored this season, suggests that an all-out win might just be a step too far. That said, all streaks have to come to an end at some point and therefore Liverpool might have to settle for a draw on Sunday.

If you think Frank Lampard's Chelsea can earn at least a point in front of their own fans, then you can back the Europa League holders at odds of 1.80 in the double chance market (home win or draw) and put a stop to Liverpool's one-hundred percent league record.

Summary: Chelsea to pick up at least a draw, as Liverpool fail to make it six wins from six.
