Gameweek 21 Betting Tips - CHELSEA SEE GOALS AT THE AMEX

Share post on:

Chelsea may have had to come from behind on Sunday against Arsenal, but they eventually got the better of crosstown rivals Arsenal while subsequently picking up another three points from home and this Wednesday, they are on the road once again.

This time it is a trip to the seaside for Frank Lampard's Chelsea and although Brighton picked up a win in their last outing, asking for back to back home wins may end up being too big an ask for the Seagulls.

Graham Potter's men were no match for Bournemouth on Saturday and it was a win that sees the South Coast outfit put further daylight between themselves and the bottom three, as they start 2020 five points clear of the relegation zone.

In fairness, Chelsea will provide a rather sterner test on Wednesday, especially as they look to solidify their current top four standing and you get the feeling that there will be little in the way of New Year cheer at The Amex for the hosts.

Not only that, but the odds for Chelsea to win in East Sussex look incredibly tempting and at the price of 1.95, this could prove to be one of the biggest value bets of the day and the perfect way to ease your hangover from the previous night.

Summary: Back Chelsea to see in the New Year with a bang

TOTTENHAM BOUNCE BACK

It is fair to say that Tottenham were somewhat out of sorts last Saturday and after drawing away at Norwich, the North London outfit ended the previous gameweek lying five points behind Chelsea.

It seems as if every time Tottenham are presented with an opportunity to lay down a top four marker, they refuse to act on it and with the gap to Chelsea now widening, manager Jose Mourinho knows that his job has just become a little bit more difficult.

That's not to say chasing down and eventually overhauling Chelsea is impossible, but if that is to be the case, then they are going to have to return to winning ways on New Year's Day and begin to build a real head of steam.

Standing in their way is a Southampton side that have become one of the form teams in the division and after picking up seven points from their last nine on offer, Ralph Hasenhuttl's men are now playing with a newfound confidence.

They may be four points clear of the relegation zone, but the Austrian manager knows that he and his players cannot rest on the laurels at the same time and they will certainly be primed and ready for the visit of Tottenham.

However, Spurs will certainly have a point to prove after slipping up against Norwich on Saturday and therefore an away win is the focus for the tip especially when they are priced at the inviting 2.15 in which to do so.

Summary: Back Tottenham to win at St Mary's.

DON'T RELY ON EITHER DEFENCE

Mikel Arteta is still searching for his first win as Arsenal manager and when you consider where the Gunners start 2020 in the Premier League table, it is one that is going to have to come in double quick time.

Standing in the Spaniard's way this Wednesday, is the visit of a Manchester United side who have won their last two Premier League outings and after losing just one of their last six, the Red Devils have now moved up to fifth in the table.

They are currently the best placed team to hunt down Chelsea in the race for the final Champions League place and if that is to be the case, then Ole Gunnar Solskjaer knows that nothing else than a win at the Emirates will do.

However, with Arsenal desperate to deliver a first win for their new manager, that might not be an easy task and even when you consider that United have had some fruitful trips to The Emirates in recent times.

Picking a winner in this one might prove to be fruitless by comparison and therefore opting for both teams to score might just prove to be the safer option, while at odds of 1.53 you can begin to understand why.

Summary: At least a goal each in the red half of North London
