OVER AND OUT AT GOODISON PARK
By the time you read this article, Everton may have a new manager and if Marco Silva somehow gets another stay of execution, he is either the luckiest man in football or he knows where the bodies are being buried at Goodison Park.
Regardless of who is at the Everton helm this weekend, there is one thing that can almost be guaranteed and that is goals, especially when you consider that the Toffees are rank bad in defence and they play host to a Chelsea side who have little trouble scoring themselves.
With Everton shipping five in midweek you would like to think that things cannot be that bad again, although when a team is that low on confidence, you wouldn't put another thrashing outside of the realms of possibility.
However, we only need a total of 2.5 for this bet to come in and when looking at the factors above (Everton = bad, Chelsea = good), it should be an easy enough bet to get over the line and therefore odds of 1.72 should certainly be considered.
Summary: Over 2.5 goals at Goodison
EAGLES SOAR AT VICARAGE ROAD
There was nothing in the way of new manager bounce for Watford on Wednesday, as Hayden Mullins attempt at trying to rejuvenate an ailing group of his players was unsuccessful. Although in fairness, you could have said exactly the same about Quique Sanchez Flores' attempt also.
This Saturday sees the Premier League's basement outfit play host to Crystal Palace and with Roy Hodgson's men having won back to back fixtures, they will be confident of extending the run to three in a row.
Should that be the case, it will give Palace a lot more breathing space between themselves and the relegation trap door. Something that everyone connected with Watford, can only dream of at present.
Therefore, with the Eagles relatively soaring, (at least in comparison to Watford) the visitors to Vicarage Road should represent good value to pick up maximum points and at odds of 3.25 you can understand why.
Summary: Put the house on Crystal Palace
GOALS AT THE VILLA
It is fair to say that Aston Villa are good going forward, but their defence has been the source of Dean Smith's headaches this season and with Leicester coming to town on Sunday, the former Walsall boss may have to reach for the Aspirin.
That's because Leicester make the relatively short trip to Villa Park having won their last seven league outings and if anyone is really going to challenge Liverpool for the title, the Foxes look best suited to do so.
With Jamie Vardy defying father time and already scoring 14 league goals this season, the former England international will be primed and ready to add to this tally and with that in mind, it is the goals market we are focusing on.
However, with the aforementioned threat that Villa also have, Both Teams To Score should be where the smart money goes this weekend and at odds of 1.57, this should be considered a nice bit of accumulator fodder.
Summary: Both teams find the net at Villa Park
LIVERPOOL DOMINATE FROM THE OFF
If there has been one criticism of Liverpool this season, it is that they've only been winning their league games by a single goal. A criticism that was blown out of the water on Wednesday, as they put five past Everton.
Which not only saw them break a club record for going 32 league games unbeaten but will also set them in very good stead for this weekend and especially when they go up against a Bournemouth side, who have lost their last four league outings.
With Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah rested in midweek, they will be raring to go on Saturday and if Liverpool can get out of the blocks quickly, you get the feeling that they will easily put Bournemouth to the sword.
While should this be the case, the scoring in both halves market is one that should garner your attention and at odds of 2.00 for Liverpool to net in either side of the interval, this will be one of the smarter bets to make this weekend.
Summary: Liverpool to score in the first and second half
