Clean Sheet Potential
A look at the bookies odds are suggesting that Espanyol, Las Palmas, Villarreal, Real Madrid and Malaga are the five most likely teams to keep a clean sheet this weekend. You could consider this when you are selecting your team(s) this weekend.
Goalkeeper Tips
We are six games into the La Liga season and Malaga are still without a goal and a win for that matter. They did however get a point from the Santagio Bernabeu along with a clean sheet. This weekend they welcome Real Sociedad to the La Rosaleda Stadium David Moyes' side have only scored five league goals this season so Malaga keeper
Carlos Kameni (7.0m) will be looking to keep a clean sheet against them.
Villarreal sit top of La Liga for the first time in their history, which for such a prestigious club is a shock. This weekend they will play Levante, who currently sit 19th in the league are without a win and have only scored five goals. Their keeper
Alphonse Areola (7.9m) has kept back to back clean sheets against Malaga and Atletico Madrid and will be aiming for a third against Levante. He has fantastic reactions and is a vital part of the Villarreal side.
Defender Tips
Many expected Las Palmas to come up to La Liga and struggle. Whilst they have lost three of their opening six games but have looked a strong unit. They are all fighting for the same cause and have a real team unity. They opt for a 3-5-2 formation and our Las Palmas tip for a defender is
David Simon (6.8m) who plays as the right wing back. He is a danger in the final third and has a goal to his name already this season along with one assist.
Barcelona can now welcome back
Dani Alves (10.4m) to their side. The Brazilian featured in the midweek Champions League win over Bayer Leverkusen. The game itself is a tough one to call but Alves' attacking prowess always gives him the chance to provide in the final third.
Malaga are yet to score a goal this season and in all honestly they don't look like scoring any soon. You have the pick of two fantastic Real Sociedad players both
Diego Reyes (7.5m) and
Inigo Martinez (7.5m) have been solid at the back this season and haven't conceded a goal since the 19th of September. Their game against Malaga looks set to be a stalemate and both Reyes and Martinez should continue their shutout.
Finally you could opt for
Aymeric Laporte (7.1m) of Athletic Club Bilbao. The French international is slowly becoming one of most promising defenders in not just Spain but the world. He is very composed on the ball and can read the game very well. He is also a very good tackler, as we know with MondoGoal this gives you bonus points.
Attacking Potential
Looking back at the bookies odds suggest that Barcelona, Rayo Vallecano, Villerreal, Real Betis and Espanyol are the five most likely teams to score this weekend. Real Madrid and Sporting Gijon come just outside the top five. It wouldn't be the worst idea to select the basis of your attack around these players.
Midfielder Tips
Real Madrid face their toughest test of the season when they come up against Madrid rivals Atletico. Their going to need all the creativity they can get to break down their defence and
Luka Modric (10.6m) is perfect for that role. Although he only has one assist to his name this season his vision and creativity is such an important part of Real Madrid's game. With Ronaldo enduring his worst goal scoring start to a La Liga season despite scoring five we could see Modric supplying the Madrid legend to end that drought
Barcelona loanee
Alen Hailovic (6.6m) has been very impressive during his spell at Sporting Gijon. His trickery and low centre of gravity makes him a nightmare for opposition defenders. He already has two assists to his name this season. Espanyol have conceded 14 goals this season, including six in one game. They don't yet look to have sorted out their defensive issues.
Luis Alberto (7.1m) could also be a fantastic addition to your side this weekend. He currently has two goals and two assists to his name this season and has been a pleasure to watch. He is very good with the ball at his feet and one of his strengths is his ability to find his striker with a through ball. Granada sit bottom of the league and have conceded 12 goals in their six games.
Remember
Joaquin (8.2m) well he's back at Real Betis, the place where it all began, and he's doesn't appear to be showing his age. Even at the age of 34 he has been a fantastic addition to the Betis side, he has an expensive price tag for a Betis player but his price reflects class. Many believe he was the most shrewd signing of the summer transfer window.
Forward Tips
We welcome back
Luis Suarez (15.4m) to our La Liga tips last weekend he picked up two goals in Barcelona's win over Las Palmas and then another in the midweek win over Bayer Leverkusen. The injury to Lionel Messi means more onus will be on both Suarez and
Neymar (15.0m) to grab the goals, as we know though both a more than adequate of doing so. If we had to pick one of the two it would be Suarez.
Ruben Castro (9.9m) seems to show no signs of detrition in his old age and this season has three goals and one assist and could become a great differential for you side this weekend. He's a fantastic finisher and knows where the back of the net is. He can play anywhere across the front line but Pepe Mel prefers him in his strongest position - the striker.
Finally is
Lucas Perez (9.2m) he had his best game of the season last weekend in Deportivo's 3-0 win over Espanyol. He picked up two goals and could have taken away the match ball. He seems to be hitting his form for the season and will be looking to continue his goal scoring run against bottom placed Granada this weekend
