Goalkeeper Tips
This season
Pau (MO;3.7m, FB;4.5m) has been the number one for Espanyol, the 20-year-old hasn't really set the word alight but has put in some performances that have been admirable. This weekend they face Malaga, at this stage of the season Javi Garcia's side have only scored five league goals with every single one of them coming at home. This obviously makes for good reading for the Espanyol fans, who will be hoping to witness the clubs third home clean sheet of the season.
A more expensive choice to the weekend is Villarreal's
Alphonse Areola (MO;7.2m, FB;6.0m) who welcome Eibar to the Estadio El Madrigal this Sunday. His performances this season have earned him a call up to the French national side but the Paris Saint-Germain loanee is yet to make his Les Blues debut. If he does keep up his high level of performances he may be rewarded with that cap sooner rather than later. His Villarreal side will play Eibar this weekend, a side who can score goals but may struggle against what can be a strong Villarreal back line.
Defender Tips
Fewer sides are more defensively stubborn in world football than Diego Simeone's Atletico Madrid,
Filipe Luis (MO;9.1m, FB;6.0m) looks the best option for this weekend. Whilst the whole Atleti backline looks appealing they tend to pick up bookings that will cost you vital points. The Brazilian provides an attacking threat down the left and is also strong defensively. Atleti face Real Betis away this weekend a game in which Madrid have kept a clean sheet in their previous three league games.
Shkodran Mustafi (MO;8.5m, FB;6.0m) has been solid this season at the heart of the Valencia defence. He's now starting to provide an attacking threat from set pieces, which makes a gem for Daily Fantasy Football. Things are not in the best shape for Nuno at Valencia, the fans want him gone and it's all a bit upside down. One thing is for sure though; the players are putting in 100% for their manager, Mustafi especially. This weekend the Mestalla Stadium will play hosts to Las Palmas a side Valencia should be keeping a clean sheet against despite their situation.
Next up is Sporting Gijon's
Alberto Lora (MO;7.8m, FB;5.0m) the right back has already collected four assists this season, this puts him top of the La Liga assists a remarkable achievement for a defender. He is very dangerous and has a fantastic final ball him making him a nightmare for opposition sides. He will come up against Levante this season, who have only scored one away goal this season and have lost their last three away games 3-0.
Attacking Potential
1. Valencia
2. Villarreal & Real Madrid
3. Barcelona & Atletico Madrid
4. Athletic Club Bilbao
5. Celta Vigo
Midfielder Tips
Moving into midfield and starting off proceedings
Raul Garica (MO;8.3m, FB; 8.0m) Athletic Club Bilbao will travel to Granada this weekend. Garcia holds some interesting personal stats over Granada, he has played them eight times and hasn't lost to them once and boasts three goals in them eight matches. In his last two La Liga games, he's scored twice. Whilst Adruiz is the headline grabber in the Athletic Club side and Inaki Williams is the golden boy, Raul Garcia should not be overlooked as he has bags of ability.
Next is
Ever Banega (MO;8.0m, FB;6.0m) who will be looking to continue his run La Liga goals after consecutive goals against Real Madrid and Getafe. The Argentine midfielder loves having the ball at his feet and creates plenty of chances for this teammates throughout the 90 minutes. He also takes the majority of set pieces for Valencia, which of course increases his chances of assists and goals.
It's hard not to appreciate just how good
Alen Halilovc (MO;7.2m, FB;7.0m) at such a young age he is really orchestrating the Sporting Gijon attack. The Croatian has scored two goals whilst creating three. He's incredibly good with the ball at his feet and can weave in and out of players almost naturally. He's a joy to watch and should bring home to goods for Sporting Gijon this weekend against what is a weak Levante defence.
Forward Tips
This weekends match between Deportivo La Coruna and Celta Vigo has goals written all over it, both sides have a lot of attacking talent in their sides and both are not the best defensively. Celta have lost their way a little bit this season whilst Deportivo are starting a love affiliation with draws. I expect to see goals form both sides for Deportivo it has to be
Lucas Perez (MO;10.4m, FB;8.5) who has seven La Liga goals to his name this season, but there is doubts over his fitness levels as he is recovering from a knee injury, so please do remember to check the team news before submitting your final squad, whilst from Celta Vigo can it really be anyone else other than
Nolito (MO;12.8m, FB;11.0m)? He's been almost unplayable at times this season tallying up seven goals and four assists. He's been a joy to behold and should be looking to continue that this weekend.
You could really take advantage of
Cedric Bakambu (MO;4.3m, FB;8.0m) and his cheap price tag this weekend. He has four league goals to his name and looks the most likely source for goals from Villarreal. He's got some pace about him as well, enabling him to get behind the defence, before finding the back of the net. He works well with fellow striker Roberto Soldado and will be looking to bounce off his strike partner this weekend to grab his fifth of the season.
Finally is
Neymar (MO;19.8m, FB;14.0m) I was toying with not having a single Barcelona or Real Madrid player in this weeks tips but the El Clasico this weekend is looking a very tasty fixture. The Barcelona forward has 11 league goals to his name this season making him the front-runner for the Pichici. His tendency to ‘overreact' to certain challenges could possibly see him grab an assist for winning a penalty or possibly converting it himself.
Good luck this weekend and join us next week for another round of La Liga Daily Fantasy Football Tips.
