Under the Radar Stealth Picks for Game Week 38
Under the Radar Stealth Picks for Game Week 38
All things must come to an end!
Hope you have had an excellent season and like myself, you are looking forward to next season with a little break first.
One last time lets look at some choices in FPL for this coming gameweek.
The key issue we have this week is Son's red card and subsequent suspension, his huge ownership means that a large portion of managers are probably looking at midfield assets between the price range of 4.2m and 10m so I will focus on those this Gameweek.
The 3 below make the most sense:
Nathan Redmond
Southampton
5.5m
Midfielder
6.1% TSB
127 Points
3.4 points per game
Vs Huddersfield
It's pretty hard to predict anything in FPL these days...
We sit and we look at form, stats, fixtures and we end up invariably making the wrong choice! One thing that has seem predictable this season however is a home game vs relegated Huddersfield. These games have brought managers hauls, and one last time I will take the easy punt and put my chips in on this.
With 1.93xG predicted for Southampton against Huddersfield a potentially out of position Redmond could be primed to take advantage of the 6th highest xG opportunity this week. Redmond has always had the potential to explode but frequently fails to have that final bit of focus that converts his chances into big point returns. However, his speed, balance and directness could be perfectly set to penetrate the Huddersfield back-line to give a good final home game for the Saints fans.
He could be a good captain choice for those chasing Mini League positions!
Ryan Fraser
Bournemouth
6.3m
Midfielder
23.1% TSB
179 Points
4.8 points per game
Vs Crystal Palace (A)
Both teams have nothing to play for but the position 12th and the money it will bring. Palace will secure it over Bournemouth with a draw, but the game is basically a free shot for both teams to enjoy a final Premier League game before the stress of a new season and new expectations kick in. Palace are still somewhat struggling with injuries with Schlupp, Tomkins and Sakho missing significant parts of the end of the season. With that and the potential last game send off for Speroni we could be looking at a very understrength last game for the Eagles.
Fraser / Wilson / King are perfectly poised to have fun with this and have a game free of any expectation. Fraser has had a fantastic year and is a mega haul (hat-trick) away from 200 points for the year, which is fantastic for a 13th placed team under 6.5m midfielder, who doesn't take penalties.
He could see a move this summer to a big 6 team who could benefit from his positivity, work-rate and directness. So one last time potentially, one of our players of the year, Fraser could be a good one week punt.
Bernardo Silva
Manchester City
7.7m
Midfielder
13% TSB
152 Points
4.3 points per game
Vs Brighton (A)
My personal player of the year, what he can do across about 5 positions is incredible, his attitude is exemplary, and he oozes class. He does however lack FPL points given just how good he is in an attacking City team. But with the potential return of KDB we could see Bilva return to his effective right wing position, if not he could see more set pieces and architect-ey positions in a more attacking midfield position. City could run riot against Brighton if they get an early goal and if the good mood flows their predicted xG of 2.33 (3rd highest in the league for this GW) could reward owners. With Sterling and Aguero owned by most managers, Bilva is my cheeky punt for an attacking differential. Pep seems to entrust the diminutive Portuguese with a lot of game time and on field responsibility, so if one last time we fall victim to pep roulette; Bilva should be our safe pick.
Good luck to all of you and I can't wait to do this all over again next year, and for everyone who came higher than my 17k finish (with 1 GW left) congrats but I'm going to try and catch you next year 😊.
