BGW33 - Under the Radar - FPL Differentials

Well after a nice long break from FPL of a day, we are back again for the stress of a blank gameweek. With only 6 fixtures and 12 teams to choose assets from, this week I wanted to look at 3 players who not only play here in the blank but also double in gameweek 35, making their potential transfer in for this week have a reward down the line if something doesn't quite work out this gameweek. They will also be 1 defender, 1 midfielder and 1 attacker. Fixtures Southampton v Liverpool Huddersfield v Leicester Newcastle v Crystal Palace Bournemouth v Burnley Everton v Arsenal Chelsea v West Ham

Kolasinac

5.0m 6.1% TSB Defender Arsenal Fixtures: Gameweek 33 Everton (a) Gameweek 34 Watford (a) Gameweek 35 Crystal Palace (H), Wolves (a) Points per Game: 4.0 Arsenal are hitting form at the right time and Kolasinac is well placed, literaly as we will see from his positioning, to take advantage of this. Kolasinac's heat map shows him spending significant time in the oppositions box, specifically around the six yard box to the left hand side of the goal. This is due to Arsenal sticking to 3 at the back with Maitland-Niles and Kolasinac adding surging width to the Gunners. Over the last 10 GWs Kolasinac has provided the joint 4th highest chances for a defender with 14. To supplement these stats Kolasinac has also racked up the 4th highest xA for a defender (2.01) in the last 10 GWs behind only Alexander-Arnold, Robertson and Ricardo Pereira while also taking 5 shots himself (0.5 per match). With Everton up this weekend, who are proving a difficult team to predict, Kolasinac acquisition right now also sets him up for Arsenal's upcoming double gameweek while attacking contributions (being involved in 17% of Arsenal goals when he has been on the pitch in the last 10), should offset Arsenal's inconsistent defensive output.

James Ward-Prowse

5.1m 3% Midfielder Southampton Fixtures: Gameweek 33 Liverpool (H) Gameweek 34 Wolves (H) Gameweek 35 Newcastle (a), Watford (a) Points per Game: 3.9 It look like the England u21 international has a run of games where he can finally stake a place in peoples teams. While he sat on the bench or in the back of peoples minds for his incredible run of goals a month ago, now he features in a blank, a home game and a double in 3 gameweeks. With 18 chances created for his teammates in the last 10 matches (8th highest in the league), and on most set pieces for Southampton (crucially on penalties when Ings or Austin have been absent), it is time to start taking JWP seriously. Southampton have an xG of 0.77 against Liverpool, 1.49 against Wolves and 2.68 in the double gameweek at 5.1m JWP is at a fantastic price especially with a potential bench boost in 35.

Aubameyang

10.8m 18.4% Arsenal Forward Fixtures: Gameweek 33 Everton (a) Gameweek 34 Watford (a) Gameweek 35 Crystal Palace (H), Wolves (a) Points per Game: 5.6m With all the attention falling on Lacazette it is important to note that Aubameyang has been posting better underlying statistics and has only really missed out due to injury and illness, with these clear he could look an important asset in the Arsenal attack. From the last 10 gameweeks, were Aubamayang has only started in 6 of them, he had the highest xG for forwards in the game with 7.65 (Aguero has 6.63 for reference and Lacazette has 5.44). On top of this Aubameyang has created 2 more chances for his teammates and has had 2 more big chances, although Lacazette's xA is slightly higher. The fixtures Arsenal face are tricky but with Everton proving inconsistent and with nothing to play for, Watford potentially with either their eyes on a Wembley FA Cup Final or sitting with the disappointment of not making it and nothing to play for in the league, that leaves only a double gameweek left where although the teams faced are usually good against top 6 opposition both good be put to the sword if Arsenal push home with their supremacy as they look to finish in the top 4.
