GW27  Under the Radar

BGWs and DGWs on the Horizon
The Blank Gameweeks and Double Gameweeks are starting to take shape, while I'm sure there will be lots of twists and turns throughout organising we are looking at just 10 teams playing in Gameweek 31, a host of double fixtures in Gameweek 32, another set of blanks in 33 and another Double Gameweek in 35. Also, if Brighton progress against Milwall in the cup Brighton may be looking at a third Double Gameweek in GW37, possibly against Chelsea.
This leaves me with an interesting dilemma for this weeks Under the Radar, and all subsequent articles; however easy it is to just pick out players who may have a good fixture in the coming Gameweek, that player may then have a cavalcade of blank fixtures immediately after. Equally I could look at a player who doesn't blank or double and thus may be unappealing to your team. However, with a multitude of different chip tactics coming into play over the next 11 Gameweeks I will continue to pick out players regardless of where they blank and double but will point out the positives of each if the player is featured.
But in this edition I will pick out 3 players, 1 who doesn't blank or double at all, 2 who double well.
No Blanks or Doubles
David Brooks

Bournemouth

When Brooks returns from injury he will straddle the mayhem of the blank and double gameweeks with a succession of manageable fixtures, 1 per gameweek, every gameweek. With his injury layoff coming off the back of some blistering form with 94 points across 1500 minutes of Premier League action, Brooks is a contender for value midfielder of the season (although Pogba is disrupting this category currently). His form has seen him nail down either the right flank position at Bournemouth or a position joining the attack at the expense of ex-West Ham player Junior Stanislas (who has been an FPL hero in the past, specifically from set plays). With his price dropping to an almost rock bottom 5.0m he could be a good asset especially with his fixtures;

BGW31  Newcastle (Home)
DGW32  Leicester (away)
BGW33  Burnley (Home)
GW34  Brighton (away)
DGW35  Fulham (Home)
Double Gameweek's 32 and 35
Diogo Jota

Wolverhampton Wanderers

Everyone's favourite FPL GW1 flop has come back into some great form recently, with hat tricks included! Jota has now nailed down the striker position at Wolves alongside Raul Jiminez meaning the Portuguese is playing out of position. Wolves blank in both 31 and 33 so you would have to manage Jota's absences with chips or use of your bench  however this does mean Jota has some fantastic Double Gameweeks;
GW27  Bournemouth (away)
GW28  Huddersfield (away)
GW29  Cardiff (Home)
GW30  Chelsea (away)
BGW31  BLANK
DGW32  Burnley (away), Arsenal (Home)*
BGW33  BLANK
GW34  Southampton (away)
DGW35 Brighton (Home), Manchester United (Home)*
Both Manchester United and Arsenal have had porous defences this season so Wolves could be fancied to grab a goal or two in these games to add to what should be good returns against Burnley and Brighton. Wolves have an xG for the Arsenal match of 1.77 which is higher than that of the Burnley game once more showing us that fixtures on paper need to be looked at seriously and not with the cursory glance of big teams vs small teams.

Ben Foster

Watford
6.3% TSB
3.9 Points per game
Watford have kept a string of impressive clean sheets recently, and but for a last minute double heartbreak vs Tottenham Foster stepped down from 11points to 5points to 2points in the space of Son and Llorente grabbing last minute goals at Wembley. With that in mind Foster has returned 4,4,8,2 (Spurs game),8,10 points in recent weeks and he is well placed to hit the double gameweeks, with the possibility of either a good double in 35 or a good fixture in BGW33 if Watford go out the FA Cup vs Crystal Palace during BGW31.
Foster will either have this run;
BGW31  BLANK
DGW32  Brighton (away), Southampton (Home)
BGW33 Fulham (Home) If Watford lose to Palace in FA Cup in BGW31
GW34  Arsenal (Home)
DGW35  Huddersfield (away)
or
BGW31  BLANK
DGW32  Brighton (away), Southampton (Home)
BGW33 BLANK If Watford beat Palace in FA Cup in BGW31
GW34  Arsenal (Home)
DGW35  Huddersfield (away), Fulham (Home)
So Ben Foster, Diogo Jota and David Brooks could be useful players as we navigate the next 11 GWs.
Until Next Time...
