Huddersfield

Newcastle (H), Southampton (H)
Who takes penalties at Huddersfield? well its Aaron Mooy of course. But wait, who has just been injured up until February yes, Aaron Mooy. It is obviously clear that Huddersfield will not be the highest scorers in the league, regardless of a positive or negative fixture list, but the Terriers have a favourable run of fixtures at Christmas and their defenders could offer a good route into cheap squad points. One of these defenders, Lowe, who is returning to first team action and indeed competing somewhat for his place was a penalty taker at previous clubs. The German has also filled in at left midfield in 5 games this season so has some potential for more attacking returns through this method, so far registering 1 assist from a disrupted season (disrupted by a shoulder injury similar to that which kept him out a portion of the 15/16 season at Mainz).
Huddersfield have a fantastic run of fixtures with Man Utd (A) as one of the only blotches on their potential copybook (however they have faired well in previous meetings with the Old Trafford club).
Fulham and Burnley complete their festive fixtures while successive home games against Newcastle and Southampton make up their next two matches. This run see's them as the 5th best shot for defensive returns over the next 6 gameweeks. If you are looking for a safer option than Lowe, fellow German Schindler has featured in every match this season for Huddersfield and at the same price point could provide your squad with fantastic cover over the next few breakneck speed gameweeks. However, do not be surprised if a certain Lowe steps up for a penalty over the next few weeks, remember where you heard it first.
Sergio Aguero

Manchester City

Everton (H), Crystal Palace (H)
With his ownership halving in 3 weeks and Kane and Aubameyang flooding in to fill the gap in managers squads left by the Argentinian's succession of small injuries, including the recent adductor injury Aguero could now be considered in the realms of the differential bracket, albeit with his 24% ownership being held up by a large proportion of inactive squads. Managers who have stuck with the City forward or looking to bring him back in could be in for a treat with Aguero now featuring in full training and being given the midweek tie to Hoffenheim in the Champions League off alongside manager Pep Guardiola saying; ‘he will be back soon'.
Aguero's statistics are nothing to argue with, or justify here, we all know about his performance as a fantasy asset and his lowered price, performance in the Community Shield saw him in most teams from the off. He has rewarded managers well, but with the likes of Sterling and Sane offering a different route into City points (proving more lucrative in the last 5 GWs) many managers are going forward without Aguero.
City will rotate players over the festive period but they should also outscore most other teams in the league, so what limitations your City player gets in terms of gametime he should offset this in returns.
Jose Holebas

Watford

Cardiff (H), West Ham (a)
4 players this season have hit over 100 crosses for their team, 3 of those players have an xA of over 2.6 and 2 of those players have a goal involvement of over 40% for their team… so who are we left with… Well FPL darling wee man Ryan Fraser and this week's final pick… Jose Holebas. Jose Holebas has crucially (for him) already reached, and served a ban for yellow card accumulation and so managers can expect the Greek international to feature heavily for a Watford team starting to turn around a dodgy run of form. With Digne, at a similar price point, hitting a sticky run of fixtures an easy option would be to jump to Jose Holebas and take advantage of his similar in game stats to Digne but take advantage of his, on paper, easier fixtures. Watford, compared to Everton, have the 7th best run of fixtures for defensive returns while Everton have only the 12th, with the difficult visit of Manchester City followed by a trip to Spurs completing their GW17 and 18.
Until Next Time...
