Welcome to #GW13, under the radar differentials.
This week Delph, Vinagre, Lindelof and Mina make an appearance in this "Mendy Replacement Special".
Let's dive in...
Delph
5.2m
Manchester City
0.2% TSB
After putting in a fantastic performance form midfield as England moved through to the UEFA Nations League semi-finals, Delph has also been the main beneficiary from Mendy's knee surgery. Mendy is expected to miss out the busy festive period, with 8 gameweeks packed into the next 5 weeks, Manchester City will be looking to the ex-Villa man to provide the same cover he provided last year. While Stones, at a similar price point, or Laporte at 6.0m are the more obvious direct replacements for the French left back  Delph stands as the under the radar option. Manchester City's defensive statistics far lead the league in most sections, and Delph could be the beneficiary of this solidity with City predicted some good clean sheet scores in the next 6 GWs;
Bookies ratings of clean sheet chances for Manchester City
West Ham 56%
Bournemouth 55%
Watford 47%
Chelsea 31%
Everton 56%
Crystal Palace 70%
Delph's acumen from Set Pieces, delivery from outside the box and long range shooting could see him become a tidy differential. The other important note, is that this is the first year he has been rated as a defender in FPL.
Vinagre
4.3m
Wolverhampton Wanderers
0.1%
With the International Break injury to Jonny Otto of Wolves seeing the Spaniard out until at least the new year Wolves will have to look to their bench to cover the pivotal wing back position in their system. Vinagre has filled in this role as a sub and rotation for the midlands team, although it is conceivable the Gibbs-White and Adama could offer cover over the winter fixture rotation. However, their defensive duties could be called into question, leaving Vinagre as a more likely candidate. FPL managers of Jonny, Bennett or Doherty have been keeping their Wolves assets in their squads ready for the next run of fixtures. Wolves face Huddersfield, Cardiff and Newcastle in the next 4 gameweeks, statistically some of the worst attacking teams in the league. Good Luck if you take the plunge!
Lindelof
4.8m
Manchester United
0.9%
I wrote of Ashley Young being a festive fixture differential on the @fplbet twitter, well here comes another one, injury permitting. The Swede picked up a niggling injury on International duty so this may end up being a longer range punt than first thought. It is no secret that United have not had the best defensive start to the season, especially in comparison to their impressive numbers last season. However, United have a decent run over Christmas and with other injuries and out of favour defenders Young or Lindelof could see significant game time. Importantly, what we must note is that the sheer regularity of fixtures in the next 5 weeks means rotation WILL happen amongst most players, from budget to premium. What this does is bring players we wouldn't usually cover into play as we go for a squad depth approach over a big hitters and budget make-weights. Young has set pieces, captaincy responsibilities and is trusted by Mourinho, Lindelof is winning over the manager and his price could see him as a fantastic festive option, injury again permitting.
Special mention Yerry Mina
I have mentioned Mina in previous articles, and while I try not to repeat options, it has been one long injury break and many gameweeks since I picked him. Being such an expensive signing it would be criminal if he doesn't force his way into the team over the coming weeks, Everton do have some good fixtures here and there over Christmas but more importantly it is his goal threat that needs mentioning 23 Goals at the age of 24 for a central defender is staggering. A goal or 2 could see his price rocket from its now dropped 5.4m (0.6% tsb).
Until Next Time...
