Under the Radar Stealth Picks for FPL Gameweek 10

Share post on:
Best FPL Differential Picks for GW10 We have been on a bit of a differential run lately, with a lot of attention in our articles focusing on Mesut Ozil and Josh Murphy in the last few weeks. Now we move forward with a set of differential picks all under 6 million for the next run of games.

Laurent Depoitre

5.2m Huddersfield 0.5% He has the price, fixtures and some underlying stats to shock a few FPL managers of the coming 6 weeks. Similar to the Josh Murphy's suggestion last week, Depoitre has 100% goal involvement for Huddersfield goals when he has been on the pitch. He has also have 2 big chances, 10 shots and created 5 chances for teammates. On top of all this he was a whisker away from a stunning goal against Spurs with a left footed volley on the edge of the box that thundered off the crossbar, bouncing down against the post and onto the line and out of the goal saving many Trippier clean sheets and bonus points on that day. Huddersfield who look dangerous from set plays, where Depoitre's height comes into play, are a tidy team who if they have any chance of survival it really needs to come good for them across the next run of fixtures; Watford (A), Fulham (H), West Ham (H), Wolves (A), Brighton (H), Bournemouth (A), Arsenal (A), Newcastle (H), Southampton (H). A run of 5 winnable home games in the next 10, and 2 in the next 3, take Huddersfield up to Christmas day with only 1 troubling fixture against Arsenal. At a measly 5.2m Depoitre has nailed down his starting position for the Terriers and is a great budget enabler for those FPL managers looking to fit in the likes of KDB, Hazard, Salah, Aguero, Aubameyang etc.

Cedric / Bertrand

4.4m / 4.9m Southampton 4.7% / 4.6% With 9 points sitting on a fair few benches last week thanks to Cedric's clean sheet and maximum bonus haul, it is about time to cast an eye on an asset that has infuriated managers who own him and not been noticed by those who haven't since he appeared in 3million FPL initial drafts at the start of the season before being scrapped to make room for Wan-Bissaka. 3 of Southampton's next four games are ideal; 2 home games in 3 Gameweeks against Newcastle and Watford, followed by an away fixture against Fulham take us to the international break and beyond (we are conveniently ignoring their away fixture against Manchester City sandwiched in the middle of this run. Cedric's stats in an attacking sense have been alright, with 1 assist, 5 chances created, 5 goal attempts and 2 on target this season. However, if you are looking to invest in the Southampton backline ahead of this good run of fixtures Ryan Bertrand (4.9m) may be a better pick. With 1 goal, 9 chances created, 9 goal attempts and 2 on target, Bertrand has been performing better in the attacking sense than his Portuguese teammate.

Iheanacho

5.9m Leicester 1.6% Leicester played well in the opening 44 minutes against Arsenal, a lot of this was down to the play of James Maddison, however, with Maddison's ownership rightfully ballooning we will take a look at another asset in their team. With Vardy's price in the upper range in FPL a differing option around 3m cheaper is the ex Manchester City and current Nigeria youngster Kelechi Iheanacho. Priced at 5.9m, he has played a part in every single league game this season, either playing 60 or more in the last 4 games. He has contributed a goal and an assist this season, but has looked a danger when he has featured. Used in the Arsenal games to run the channels, he and Vardy had similar roles albeit with Vardy operating down the left flank and Iheanacho down the right. When one ran the flank the other would get into the middle, meaning Iheanacho was either in the box to potentially finish a chance or on the wing setting up one. This is a feature of Leicester playing against top teams that will press high up and give up possession behind their wingbacks. Leicester, in a sense, unfortunately are not coming up against many top sides in the next few weeks, as they sit with one of the most favourable runs of fixtures this season; West Ham (H), Cardiff (A), Burnley (H), Brighton (A), Watford (H), Fulham (A) Looking at this run we can pick out the West Ham, Watford and Fulham games to be potentially free flowing with space in behind for Leicester to deploy a similar attacking set up to that against Arsenal. The other matches will be very condensed with a deep backline from the opposition in these games you may expect Iheanacho to feature more as a predator in the box, more susceptible to substitutions or coming on to try and influence the game. What we do know from the Nigerian is he has got a good goal record, although it hasn't quite sparked into life this season he could be a cheap and differential entry into Leicester's good fixture run.
