Fantasy Premier League Differentials Tips For Gameweek 28

The hugely anticipated double gameweek has come to an end, with thousands of Fantasy Premier League managers either holding their heads high (non-Aguero triple captainers) or else hanging them in depression (Aguero triple-captainers). However, it's time to pick up the pieces and move on and there's no better opportunity to do so with a blank gameweek. Andre Ayew (1.0% Ownership)

Having settled for cameo appearances since returning from AFCON duty, Slaven Bilic looks set to welcome Ayew back into the starting XI after a run of underwhelming performances from his side. West Ham were unable to use their Gameweek 24 triumph versus Southampton as a springboard with two points picked up from a possible nine in their following three matches against West Brom (2-2), Watford (1-1) and most recently Chelsea (2-1 loss). With this in mind, Bilic will be desperate to bolster his attack. Ayew made a big impact from the bench at the weekend, assisting West Ham's solitary goal. He now has a goal and assist in his last 45 minutes of action for the Hammers. Out Of Position The Ghana International is classified as a midfielder on the official FPL game. This makes him a very attractive investment, as he's more often than not leading the line or at least being utilised as a second forward alongside Carroll. Low Popularity Although player ownership from the remaining eight clubs with Gameweek 28 fixtures will see a sharp spike, Ayew remains under the radar with just 1% of FPL managers selecting him, compared to Snodgrass' 11.8% and Antonio's 8.3%. Valued at 7.1m, Ayew is heftier on the bank than his two counterparts, however, he's FPL proven with 12 goals and five assists to his name last season and while forking up the extra cash may be irksome, it only confirms his differential status. Upcoming Fixtures: BOU (a), LEI (H), HUL (a) Bournemouth are currently on a winless run of eight games in the Premier League (W0 D3 L5) and have conceded 21 goals in this run, an average of 2.6 per game. West Ham's head-to-head record is also another positive factor having found the net nine times in their last four fixtures versus Bournemouth. Following clashes with Leicester and Hull are also favourable. The former are without a win away from home all season, while the latter are ranked 19th for goals conceded in the Premier League this season (53).

Kamil Grosicki (0.2% Ownership)

Another player whose recent form has largely gone unnoticed is Kamil Grosicki. The creative winger has been one of the most influential January signings in the Premier League. The Poland International is well established with 13 goals and seven assists during a successful season and a half in Ligue 1 with Stade Rennais and has continued to chip in, despite his new surroundings, with two assists in as many matches for Hull. Set-Piece Specialist Another weapon in Grosicki's armoury is his set-piece ability. In the last two gameweeks, he's had the second-most attempts from set plays (3), while providing constant assist potential from corners with Maguire, Ranocchia and N'Diaye sniffing around the box. Statistical Advantage However, it's not just his dead-ball potential which caught our eye. Only Coutinho (12) has more attempts on goal than Grosicki (9) in the last two gameweeks from midfield, while he is presented with a chance every 21 minutes! Sigurdsson has a chance every 38 minutes for example. His crossing statistics are also up there with 23 whipped in over the last two gameweeks. This doesn't always transform into FPL returns, although it's once again beneficial - especially when he's made nine more crosses than Eriksen over this period. Upcoming Fixtures: SWA (H), EVE (a), WHM (H) One thing which a club in the relegation zone needs is goals and we can see Hull getting a few in the coming weeks. In a stripped down gameweek 28, they face an in-form Swansea side, who obviously prioritise goals over clean sheets with five goals conceded in their last two fixtures. They will likely attempt to outscore the Tigers rather than shutting them out. There's no denying the fact that Everton (a) is a very difficult fixture, but it's worth remembering that Marco Silva's side have already defeated Liverpool and Man United this season. Next they come head-to-head with West Ham. We'll have to wait and see if Slaven Bilic has got any closer to steadying the boat by Gameweek 30, but we wouldn't be surprised if both of our differentials (Grosicki and Ayew) provide decent outputs in that contest.
