Daniel Sturridge 10.1m (1.1% Ownership) Last week saw the return of not just one top end striker in Sergio Aguero but two with Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge featuring for 20 minutes in Liverpool's win over Swansea. Things went from good to even better for Liverpool fans and Sturridge as the striker scored two goals for the Reds in the 6-1 win over Southampton in the Capital One Cup this week. We all know how injury prone the Englishman can be, but something tells us that manager Jurgen Klopp would not have started him this week if he believed there was a chance his best striker would pick up another reoccurring muscular injury. Whilst there are no easy fixtures in the Premier League there are certainly favourable ones and that's exactly what Liverpool have this weekend when they travel to Newcastle. In their last six games Steve McLaren's side have conceded 13 goals, whilst in their last six home games they've shipped 10. The tarot reading cards are pointing towards a Liverpool demolition job.
Kurt Zouma 5.4m (3.0% Ownership) A few weeks ago I'd of been crazy to tip you a Chelsea defender but now they seem to have sorted their defensive problems out keeping three consecutive clean sheets one of which came at White Hart Lane against an inform Spurs side. A figure we are getting used to seeing more and more this season is that of French defender Kurt Zouma, his stature and pace is incredible for a man of his age and he seems to be developing at a fast rate of knots. Chelsea are expected to have every single first team player fit for this weekends game against Bournemouth but the performances of their young defender leads us to believe he will keep his place in the side leaving John Terry and Gary Cahill battling to feature along side him. Of course he brings an aerial threat in the opposition box, in his last two Premier League games he's come within inches of scoring, whilst in the Champions League win over Maccabi Tel Aviv he grabbed himself a late goal.
Virgil van Dijk 5.6m (3.7% Ownership) Continuing the theme of defenders we go down south and take a look at Dutchman Virgil van Dijk. There were a few doubts over the former Celtic man when he came to the Premier League with many questioning his ability after coming from a “weaker” league. He's silenced those critics with a number of impressive defensive displays with fans all over social media praising the Southampton defender. He's very dominant in the air rarely losing an aerial duel, this of course makes him a nightmare for opposition teams from set pieces this season he currently has two goals to his name. Southampton also have relatively kind fixture this weekend when they welcome Aston Villa to St Mary's, Villa are struggling this season and are many peoples tips to be relegated. Their performances have been subpar and it's hard to see where they will get consistent goals from, all of this combined makes defender Virgil van Dijk an appealing option for the weekend's football.
Gerard Deulofeu 6.3m (3.0% Ownership) Every single week the little Spaniard creeps his way into our differential tips and he's here once again. His performance in the midweek Capital One Cup win over Middlesbrough was sublime, he ended the night with one goal and an assist to his name but his performance really caught the eye of pundits and fans alike. In last weekends entertaining 3-3 draw with Bournemouth (what a game that was by the way) the winger grabbed himself a first half assist, leaving his Premier League total at six assists for the season. He is a wonderfully gifted player and just seems to be getting better and better this season.
Duncan Watmore 4.3m (0.4% Ownership) Last week we tipped fellow Sunderland striker Jermain Defoe as a differential tip that lasted a good 30 minutes before the striker was subbed for the young Englishman Duncan Watmore. The 21-year-old had a fantastic impact on the game scoring the second goal in a 2-0 win over Stoke. If you've never watched Watmore then you're missing out, as far as Sunderland players go he is far and away one of their most exciting players even at such a young age. He's very good with the ball at his feet and knows where the back of the net is scoring two goals this season in just 236 minutes of football. With Defoe out injured the young striker is expected to start when Sunderland travel to Arsenal, now this looks incredible poor tipping on paper but Arsenal are in a poor run of form picking up one point against Norwich and West Brom they also have a number of first team players out with injuries. There could a shock on the cards and Watmore could play a part in it. Please join us next week for another differential Fantasy Premier League Tips article.
