Gameweek 6 Captain Tips

Our FPLHolly is back with her captaincy options for Gameweek 6, including her infamous clueless Husband Pick which goes on a weird food based tangent this week (read on for more!) Who will you choose? Why is it that when there's an abundance of captaincy options, barely any perform? It was a frustrating week for fantasy managers who didn't go for Lukaku! Our ever-present Shieldpick came good once again, although many thought he would go the way of the other Picks, as he left it very late! Now the fixtures are starting to turn, here are the choices for Gameweek 6.

Shield Pick: Romelu Lukaku vs Southampton (A)

Anytime Goalscorer Odds: 6/5 Yes, he's here again! It's very difficult to look past him since he's the highest owned player in the game, most captained player every single week and the joint-top goal scorer. It's pleasing to see that he's added assists to his game now too and if it hadn't been for that penalty miss against Leicester, he would have consistently returned every single week. It's a shame he doesn't have penalties, Mourinho confirmed that Mata will take them, but that didn't stop him running Kane close to the golden boot last season. He's played every minute in the league for United so far this season and has an excellent record against Southampton: 5 goals and 3 assists in 8 appearances. If you're riding high you know what to do, let Rom be your shield again!

Sword Pick: Sergio Agüero vs Crystal Palace (H)

Anytime Goalscorer Odds: 1/2 Wow, City are on a serious run of form, as is Kun! If I'm completely honest, I thought his days of being a credible FPL prospect were over. It looked last season that he was falling out of favour with Pep and his game time would be limited: I was wrong! He's scored 5 goals and got 2 assists in his last 3 appearances and it looks like he's back on penalties for City too! His ownership is only around 15% too. With a tasty home fixture coming up against a struggling Palace, it might be time to use the sword and trust Agüero with the armband once more!

Form Pick: Gabriel Jesus vs Crystal Palace (H)

Anytime Goalscorer Odds: 4/7 We didn't need to worry about which City forward to invest in during pre-season, you couldn't go too far wrong with either of them. Jesus is also in a purple patch with 4 goals in his last 3 games. His minutes have been a little limited, but he starts every game, and his conversion rate is incredible! He got a brace last time out at the Etihad and has an assist in each of his appearances against Palace. The Eagles have conceded 8 goals so far and I doubt Roy Hodgson will be able to tighten things up with Jesus poaching!

Fixture Pick: Harry Kane vs West Ham (A)

Anytime Goalscorer Odds: 8/11 The Hammers have had a woeful start to the season and it looks set to continue with Harry visiting the London Stadium. He should have been the leading goal scorer so far but the woodwork keeps slowing him down. Spurs are performing better away from Wembley and Joe Hart has already let 10 goals pass him. With Kane leading the shots tally, with 32, and having penalties too, he's bound to get on the scoresheet again this weekend! This London derby looks like an enticing fixture for him.

Punt "Monday Night Football" Pick: Aaron Ramsey vs West Brom (H)

Anytime Goalscorer Odds: 2/1 Rambo played a fantastic match against Chelsea which led him to being awarded the Man of the Match trophy. His position seems settled and he looks like an enticing captaincy option for those of you that enjoy having a captain who plays late in the gameweek. He has a goal and an assist across his two games at the Emirates this season and he will be looking for more. He has missed 3 big chances but will be looking to improve his finishing this week! Are you up for a punt?

‍Clueless Husband Pick : Mohammed Salah vs Leicester (A)

Anytime Goalscorer Odds: 5/1 So my clueless Husband is STILL beating me in our mini-league, so it looks like this section of the article is here to stay for a while longer! This week he has gone with "that Liverpool player I got last week, SALAD!!" No thats not a typo, I guess he got most of the letters right. To be honest, it's not a bad pick! He's third on the shots list with 19, and will be looking to improve his conversion rate against a Leicester team who've conceded 9 goals.
