Well I had a Gameweek 26 to forget, as did many others. It was a low average and those who ventured away from the shield pick were well and truly punished! Plenty of fantasy managers suffered a captaincy blank. I've just about recovered enough to log back into the FPL site, to prepare my captaincy selections for this week.Only 5 of the top 20 Gameweek 26 captains have scored so far:

SECRET REVEALED! Here's how YOU can get the captaincy decision right between the Premier League big guns...https://t.co/WzICEXwgv1 — FPL Holly (@FFCommunity_) February 4, 2018
Shield Pick: Mohammed Salah vs Southampon (A)
Anytime Goalscorer Odds: EvensIf you have a strong rank to maintain, you might as well leave the armband on Mo Salah every week. He is the highest captained every week and is even more enticing now that he is on penalties again. He could pip Kane to the Golden Boot, the gap is now down to just one goal. Salah has just 1 blank in his last 8 starts, with an incredible 8 goals and 4 assists in this period. He scored a brace when these two sides met earlier in the season too. The caveat here is that he has been slightly less prolific away from Anfield. If you're holding a lofty position, you know what to do.Mo Salah

Sword Pick: Harry Kane vs Arsenal (H)
Anytime Goalscorer Odds: 3/4We got an interesting insight this week into exactly why Kane loves playing against Arsenal: he has 6 goals in 6 appearances against the Gunners. He will certainly be up for this one, with a point to prove once again. Kane has scored 4 goals over the course of his last 4 games, despite that penalty miss at Anfield. More promisingly, Cech is struggling to regain fitness for this one so Ospina could deputise in goal for Arsenal. When Ospina played in the Premier League last season, he conceded 5 goals across the 2 games he played. He was also between the sticks for the 2-2 draw between these two in 2015/16. The only warning here is to keep an eye on Kane's minutes in the FA Cup replay on Wednesday evening!Harry Kane reveals how being rejected by Arsenal fuelled his stunning Tottenham career https://t.co/83LO3ZFElt pic.twitter.com/MDL5RvZbOL

Reverse Pick: Eden Hazard v West Brom (H)
Anytime Goalscorer Odds: 17/20Hazard was the leader of the dream team back in Gameweek 12, with 2 goals, an assists and 3 bonus points. The reverse pick did reasonably well in its debut, Kane provided 4 points against Liverpool, but I'm hoping for a greater total this time out. Hazard has managed some strong points returns despite Chelsea's recent struggles: he has 4 goals in his last 5 games. He's on penalties too. The only downside, is that Hazard hasn't scored in a home game since Gameweek 15. Will you select the reverse pick this time around?Gameweek 27 sees the reverse of the Gameweek 12 fixtures.

Form Pick: James Ward-Prowse v Liverpool (H)
Anytime Goalscorer Odds: 10/3James Ward-Prowse is finally showing the FPL potential that he has promised for the last four seasons. He's nailed down a spot in this Saints side and emerging in the thoughts of Southgate for the World Cup. He has the best form of all the players in the game, having 3 goals and 2 assists in his last 4 games. The fixture could be better but perhaps now is the time to rate form more highly than fixtures. Liverpool have the tendency to leak goals and JWP could capitalise on any defensive errors. His set piece delivery is phenomenal. Will you side with the form pick? It's fair to say that James Ward-Prowse has been on the last 4 game weeks #FPL pic.twitter.com/NKEtJswjbR

Fixture Pick: Sergio Aguero vs Leicester (H)
Anytime Goalscorer Odds: 1/2Despite Sergio blanking last time out, I'm almost certain to give him the armband again this week. Those who have read the captaincy analysis on my blog site will know why. Manchester City beat Leicester 3-0 at the King Power earlier this season and look set to put in a convincing performance at home this time around. Sergio has been prolific at the Etihad in recent weeks: he has scored in each of his last home games, amassing seven goals in that period. Are you going to follow my lead and give Aguero the armband?️Aguero has scored in each of his last six games in all comps at the Ethiad, scoring 10.

Punt Pick: Callum Wilson vs Huddersfield (A)
Anytime Goalscorer Odds: 13/8Callum Wilson features for the second week running and makes a convincing contender as the punt pick. Huddersfield have been woeful defensively for a number of weeks and are rock bottom of the form charts. Wilson is in strong form, with 4 goals and 2 assists in his last 7. Added to this, Wilson loves playing Huddersfield: he has 5 goals in 3 games, including the hat trick earlier on this season. Will you take a punt on Wilson this time out?STK: Callum Wilson - Bournemouth (£5.8m)
- Leading the charts among strikers in terms of value (form) with him being the fourth top FPL point-scorer since the start of the year. - Directly involved in five goals in his last six league appearances with four goals and one assist pic.twitter.com/V1m5w6cOCY — FPL Updates&Tips (@FPLUpdates_Tips) February 2, 2018
Park the Bus Pick: David De Gea vs Newcastle (A)
Clean Sheet Odds: 6/5Alonso has been ousted from this section, after conceding 4 goals against Bournemouth and then not featuring in theMonday Night Football against Watford. This week, I'm putting my faith in David De Gea. He looks set for the Golden Glove, having kept 15 clean sheets already this season and that tally looks set to increase. Manchester United now have 5 clean sheets in their last 6 games. Another looks likely this week against a Newcastle side who haven't managed to deliver much in front of goal. Are you brave enough to captain a goalkeeper?#MUFC's David de Gea is leading the way in Europe so far this season! pic.twitter.com/lGX23WDoZX

Clueless Husband Pick: Roberto Firmino vs Southampton (A)
Anytime Goalscorer Odds: 23/20My Clueless Husband has had a rough couple of weeks with his captaincy decision, so he's gone more conventional this time out. He doesn't have the luxury of choosing sword or shield, as he doesn't even own Salah or Kane! Firmino get's the armband as “he's got the best fixture” and it certainly is a selection which has some potential. Bobby has the third highest points total of all the strikers in the game, he has 2 goals and an assist in his last 4, plus got an assist in the reverse fixture. Will you be siding with my Clueless Husband? Until Next Week… Good Luck! Holly.
