After bagging an incredible third successive brace against league leaders Chelsea in the last gameweek, Tottenham wonder kid
Dele Alli seems to have announced himself as a captaincy contender. The 20-year-old now has seven goals in his last four games and has become the most highly-owned Spurs attacker (16.5%), making him more popular than both Harry Kane and Christian Eriksen.
Another man going through something of a purple patch is
Zlatan Ibrahimovic. As expected, the United striker found the net against West Ham last weekend to take his tally to an impressive four goals and three assists in four games and making a mockery of those who claimed the enigmatic Swede was over the hill.
Jermain Defoe is another man still firing despite his advancing years. The 34-year-old has scored three in four and is almost single-handedly leading Sunderland's relegation fight. His brace of penalties as the Black Cats twice came from behind against Liverpool showed not only how important he is to David Moyes' side's survival hopes, but also how his composure from the spot can benefit fantasy managers.
Premium options
Alexis Sanchez, Sergio Aguero and
Eden Hazard all currently sit in the middle of the pack. The Chilean is currently edging out the other two with his average of 5.25 points to 5 but has seen his scores decrease since Olivier Giroud has been reintroduced to the side, while Hazard and Aguero haven't scored consistently for some time. Devastating on their day, any of the three are worth owning but need to deliver more often to justify the armband.
Finally at the bottom we have
Roberto Firmino and
Diego Costa. Firmino has been in poor form recently but may see his prospects improve with the return of fellow countryman Phillippe Coutinho. With Sadio Mane on international duty however, there is a strong chance the Liverpool man will be kept wide and on the periphery of the big points.
Costa meanwhile - such a consistent source of points this season - holds up the bottom of the table but will be itching to get back among the goals after blanking in the Spurs loss.

On paper, it is
Sanchez who has the easiest fixture this week. While the Swans have been truly awful defensively home and away so far this season, it is worth noting that the recent change of management to Paul Clement may bring some defensive resolve to the Welsh side. Having said that, Sanchez and co. will still fancy their chances at big returns.
Another side that have had their defensive struggles recently is Stoke City. The Potters have conceded four goals in each of their last two away games - if Sunderland can manage a similar total you can almost guarantee
Defoe will have a hand in it.
Ibrahimovic also appears to have a favourable fixture in the most high-profile game of the weekend against rivals Liverpool. The Reds have improved in recent times however and it is likely the data is skewed by the shock 4-3 loss to Bournemouth back in Gameweek 14. It will also be interesting to see how Jose Mourinho's tactics affect the enigmatic Swede's chances.
Both
Hazard and
Costa also have an attractive fixture as they travel to the King Power stadium. Leicester have been nowhere near as watertight as last season and have managed only five shutouts so far. Two of those have come in their last couple of games however, suggesting that we may be about to witness an upturn in form.
Who is the best captaincy option for Gameweek 21?

Gameweek 21 Captain: Jermain Defoe[/caption]
So, the verdict. While
Dele Alli's form can't be ignored, West Brom tend to frustrate Spurs whenever the two sides meet. The Baggies have let in just one goal in each of their last four away games along with only one big chance, meaning Alli's chances of a huge haul could be slimmer than you'd expect.
The safe option would appear to be
Zlatan Ibrahimovic. The Swede is also in great form and has a decent fixture to boot. It is unlikely that Mourinho will be quite so rigid defensively in front of his own fans and Ibrahimovic will fancy his chances at bagging at least one goal against Mignolet or Karius.
Our tip for this week however is
Jermain Defoe. The former-England international is in great form and playing against a side shipping goals for fun on the road - the perfect storm for fantasy points. The Sunderland man's chances of returns are also greatly improved by him being on spot kicks and - unlike players like Christian Benteke and Sergio Aguero - the fact he knows how to put them away.
Fantasy Football Betting
As you're probably aware of, this season we teamed up with
Bet4theBest to promote their fantasy football betting website. We chose to promote Bet4theBest, rather than the likes of DraftKing & FanDuel, because we felt that their game is more catered to our audience.
The website is for fantasy football players, by fantasy football players. Unlike the aforementioned, they invest their money into improving their game rather than lucrative marketing campaigns. You won't find contests full of 25,000 players and you won't find the same player entering 1,000 teams to cover every possible outcome.
