Gameweek 13 Captain Tips

Share post on:
FPLHolly is back this week with her selection of captain picks for GW13. Remember it's a Friday night deadline so those teams need to be locked in early. Her Clueless Husband returns and this week he's using a reality show for inspiration! Gameweek 12 was certainly eventful, with goals galore. Rotation and injuries hit following the International Break, meaning some selections didn't feature. Lukaku's delivered for those who went with the shield pick and my clueless husband played a blinder with Salah! There were also big scores from Chelsea players, but this week they travel to Anfield which will be far from easy. Here are my Gameweek 13 selections.

Shield Pick: Romelu Lukaku vs Brighton (H)

Anytime Goalscorer Odds: 17/20 Big Rom was the most popular captain pick yet again last week. Those that went with the shield pick had to be patient, but he eventually delivered. Manchester United look like a much better team with Pogba in the side and Romelu is set to revive his early season form as the team becoming more attacking. He's consistently performing once more for club and country. He has to up his game now Ibrahimovic is back fit and potentially vying for his position. Brighton have conceded goals against the big clubs. Protect your high rank by giving Lukaku the armband once again.

Sword Pick: Harry Kane vs West Brom (H)

Anytime Goalscorer Odds: 1/2 It materialised that Kane wasn't fully fit last week and seemed to struggle against Arsenal. He'll be fully recovered for the visit of West Brom to Wembley and looks to capitalise on a frail Pulis defence. He's on penalties and has 6 goals in 5 appearances against the Baggies. He won't be well fancied for this week after two blanks in a row, but tends to over perform in these situations. Are you going to gamble on the shield pick?

Form Pick: Mohammed Salah vs Chelsea (H)

Anytime Goalscorer Odds: 13/10 Mohammed Salah has taken the Premier League by storm, and is now the top scorer and the highest FPL points scorer. On paper, the Chelsea game could be tough but Mo will be fired up against his former club. He's returned in all of his last 4 games, with braces in the last two. Chelsea won't be able to keep him out in front of the Anfield crowd. Will you plump for the form pick?

Fixture Pick: Kevin De Bruyne vs Huddersfield (A)

Anytime Goalscorer Odds: 9/5 Kevin has started to add goals to his game and the playmaker will be a popular choice in this seemingly easy fixture. He appears to be less prone to rotation than his fellow midfield counterparts and offers far more threat than Silva with his fair share of set pieces. Huddersfield conceded four last week to Bournemouth, who played with 10 men for the second half, and also shipped four goals when Spurs came to visit. Expect them to crumble under the superiority of Pep's team this weekend. Are you going with the fixture pick?

Punt Pick: Callum Wilson vs Swansea (A)

Anytime Goalscorer Odds: 6/4 Callum Wilson has announced himself back on the FPL scene, after two lengthy injury spells, with a hat trick last weekend. It was all the more impressive due to playing most of the game with 10 men. He's demonstrated that he can get back to his Championship form of the 2014/15 season where he scored 20 goals and got 13 assists. This weeks opponents are Swansea who have lost their last 4 games in a disastrous run of form. Do you expect Wilson to capitalise?

Park the Bus Pick: Kyle Walker vs Huddersfield (A)

Anytime Goalscorer Odds: 10/1 Clean Sheet Odds: 3/4 Kyle Walker is going from strength to strength at Manchester City and finished Gameweek 12 on 9 points with a clean sheet and 3 bonus points. This weeks matchup is against Huddersfield who've scored just one goal in their last 3. The city defence is bolstered by the return of Kompany and Otamendi to tighten things up at the back. Walker has 4 assists already and looks set to add to that tally at any moment. Are you brave enough to captain a defender?

Clueless Husband Pick : Jamie Vardy vs West Ham(A)

Anytime Goalscorer Odds: 11/10 Jamie Vardy is on my husband's radar since his wife is one of the contestants on this years "I'm a Celebrity, get me out of here!” Apparently, that's enough for him to become a worthy captain contender. Vardy is on penalties for Leicester and should benefit from the counter attacking style that Claude Puel is implementing. He's got 2 goals and 3 assists in 5 appearances against West Ham, who are still struggling defensively despite the appointment of David Moyes. Will you go with my husband's selection? Until Next Week…
