Gameweek 10 Captain Tips

Share post on:

FPLHolly is back with her selection of captain picks for Gameweek 10. Her clueless husband is also back with a devilish pick to wind up his Manchester United pals - it must be nearly Halloween! Read on for more!

Gameweek 9 was frustrating for FPL managers with a very low scoring week. Our trusty choices of Lukaku and Kane returned once again and we were also reminded of the importance of selecting a good Vice Captain, as popular pick Sterling was rested. For many, a captain return was the only highlight of a poor week. Disappointment prevailed for those that went with Gabriel Jesus though. Here's my picks for Gameweek 10.

Shield Pick: Harry Kane vs Manchester United(A)

Anytime Goalscorer Odds: 7/5

The Wembley curse is over, Kane can score at home this season! He's this weeks shield choice despite a tricky fixture on paper. He's been in excellent form away from home with 6 goals in 4 games. Harry has the most FPL points of any players, he's the leading PL goal scorer and has penalties too. United showed their defensive frailties against Huddersfield and I fully expect Kane to exploit this. Does he get your armband this week?

Sword Pick: Sergio Aguero vs West Brom(A)

Anytime Goalscorer Odds: 6/10

Sergio was back with a bang last week and finally equalled the City goal scoring record. He will be looking to eclipse it this week to become the outright leader. Aguero netted a hat trick in his last away game and is the highest scoring Manchester City player. He's got an excellent record against West Brom with 7 goals and 5 assists in 10 appearances. Will you pick him for your captain?

Form Pick: Kevin De Bruyne vs West Brom(A)

Anytime Goalscorer Odds: 2/1

Kevin is the king of assisting and can't get through a game at present without providing a masterclass. He's got the best form of all FPL players with a goal and 6 assists in his last 6 Premier League games. He's also got a good record against West Brom with a goal and 2 assists in 3 appearances. De Bruyne has started every single game so far this season so should be safe from rotation. Will you trust him with the armband?

Fixture Pick: Mohammed Salah vs Huddersfield(H)

Anytime Goalscorer Odds: 21/20

Salah provided a glimmer of hope for Liverpool supporters in their game against Spurs and reminded us of his FPL potential. The fixtures are turning for the better and Salah is a good option for the armband this week. He may be on penalties and his playing position seems secure. He's 2nd for shots on target with 18 and looks the most creative out of the Liverpool midfield. With a decent fixture at Anfield, will you go with the fixture pick this week?

Punt Pick: Richarlison vs Stoke(H)

Anytime Goalscorer Odds: 15/8

Richarlison has become the leading budget midfielder in FPL and now the fixtures are turning he becomes a captaincy contender. This week he's got a plum home game against Stoke, who have the worst defence in the Premier League. He's in an attacking side under Marco Silva and is 3rd for shots with 32. He was wasteful against Chelsea and could easily have had a hat trick in that game. Are you going to take a punt?

Park the Bus Pick: Hector Bellerin vs Swansea(H)

Anytime Goalscorer Odds: 8/1

Clean Sheet Odds: 5/6

Arsenal have the best fixture in terms of defensive difficulty this week against a Swansea side who have scored just 6 goals. The above stat has put him on my radar with more attacking returns due. Arsenal had 4 clean sheets in a row not long ago and now their centre backs fitness worries have been eased, it should be a routine shut out for the Gunners. Are you mad enough to captain a defender?

Clueless Husband Pick: Christian Eriksen vs Manchester United(A)

Anytime Goalscorer Odds: 4/1

Gameweek 9 was disappointing for my clueless husband with an Abraham Lincoln captaincy blank and a miserable 44 points. The gap is closing! We spent last weekend with Manchester United fans who were gutted with the result against Huddersfield. He thought it would be funny to captain someone playing against them this week in the big game! Eriksen is the 2nd highest FPL midfielder and always has the ability to beat the most sturdy defences. Knowing my husband's luck, it could be bad news for our good friends. Are you going with my husband's pick?

Until Next Week…
Good Luck!
