Veracruz have one thing to be thankful for right now - and that's the fact that Jaguares Chiapas are also in the league and are really giving relegation the old college try. Relegation in the MX isn't quite as cut and dry as it is in other leagues, but at the end of the day, you need points from games to stay up. Suffice to say, Veracruz's 9 points from 16 games this year isn't really what the team is looking for in an effort to stay in the top flight for years to come. Tijuana, on the other hand, have had themselves a wonderful start to the Apertura and still sit in first place in the league with 33 points from 16 matches. And even though Tijuana are already firmly cemented in the Liguilla for this season (playoffs), they'll be looking to regain some finishing sharpness after a shock defeat against Tigres last round. For those of you that read the betting preview article last round, you have to believe me when I say that Tijuana really did deserve to win that game - but Tigres' Guzman played out of his mind in goal. So I expect Tijuana to take out a bit of frustration against Veracruz this week.

Veracruz have an outside shot at getting points from this game - but it's as far outside as it gets. The one thing that Veracruz are really good at is being in high scoring games.
