We are yet again close to yet another international break, and while we wait for the game to be shook up by the massive swing in fixtures, the inevitable pre-international break ‘injuries' and the injuries and form garnered on the break we sit with options in front of us but varying different strategies to go with.
I've already committed to a long term solution, which I am now a bit shaky on but had to due to inevitable price rises and falls. However there are some amazing opportunities out there for managers.
The Short Term
Marcos Alonso (6.2m) sits with an injured Emerson (out until after the international break GW9) in a great position for our teams. He has suffered an exciting price reduction and is now starting games in his favoured LWB role due to Chelsea's change in shape. The change in shape to accommodate Academy asset Reece James on the right hand side could see Chelsea move forward with this formation more. They are blessed with the midfield dominance Kante brings, covering the ground of two players, allowing for a smaller midfield with wing backs (Reece James, Alonso and Emerson) and attacking midfielders (Mount, Barkley, Pedro, Willian, Pulisic and Hudson-Odoi) supplying a target man striker (Tammy Abraham). Alonso is a FPL gem and with two guaranteed gameweeks against Brighton (Home) and Southampton (Away). If he does well he could keep his place after the break with Chelsea, again, having a fantastic run. But what makes him a fantastic short term punt only, is we do not yet know whether he will get rotated once Emerson returns.

The Long Term
James Maddison (7.1m) is currently injured, he should work his way back for the Liverpool game in GW8 and inevitably his England debut in late October. However from GW9 onwards Maddison and his Leicester teammates have one of the best runs of any team in the entire season:
Burnley (Home)
Southampton (Away)
Crystal Palace (Away)
Arsenal (Home)
Brighton (Away)
Everton (Home)
Watford (Home)
Aston Villa (Away)
Norwich (Home)
That takes us to Manchester City (Away on the 21st of December). Each of the teams he plays have proven themselves shaky in defence at times and in each of the first 4 GWs after the break Leicester are looking at over 1.5 xG a game (With Burnley and Arsenal the highest). Maddison has taken the most amount of corners in the League (39), the 4th highest crosses (49) and has a cross completion close to 25%. He is also developing into his best football of his career with a man of the match performance against Spurs.

GW7 - 3 Quick Picks
- Tammy Abraham vs Brighton (Home)
Almost a captain pick for those that have him. 2 potential 3-4-3 formations come up against eachother with Abraham's height possibly nullified by that of Dan Burn, but his pace across the ground and intelligence of positioning as well as the overwhelm from the other attacking assets should see him get a chance or two against an injury hit Brighton squad.
- Raheem Sterling vs Everton (Away)
He won't be rested. Everton are bad. But... Everton have done well against City historically, even though City's form is scary!
- Nicolas Pepe vs Ashley Young (Away) :P
Well seriously, Man Utd are awful at the moment and Old Trafford could give up at any moment. Pepe, running at Ashley Young and Maguire could be deadly.
