Gameweek 8 Goal Scoring Analysis For Fantasy Premier League.
Which team has the best attacking potential for Gameweek 8? We've analysed attacking form, fixture difficulty and the bookies odds to reveal which teams are going to score the highest.
Last game week the table forecasted that Liverpool, Man United and Arsenal were the most likely to score, whilst Burnley, Hull and Stoke were the least likely. It was a low scoring game week with no teams scoring more than twice. Liverpool managed two whilst United and Arsenal both scored once. The other end of the table proved more accurate with Burnley and Hull both failing to score, and Stoke only managing to convert once. Ahead of Gameweek 8, @CallumRead has compiled the data and created another forecast which hopefully provides results with a similar accuracy to last week. Not only is this useful when selecting your FPL team, it's also a great visual aid for daily fantasy players. How is the data calculated? Every team has been rated 1 to 20 (1: best in the league, 20: worst in the league) based on form, fixture and odds. We've then totalled up all three scores and colour coded them for you to easily visualise which ones have the best goalscoring potential for Gameweek 8.Gameweek 8 Attacking Potential: Form Vs. Fixture Vs. Odds:
Obvious Findings: Gameweek 8 see's Arsenal top the table as they face Swansea City at home, Arsene Wenger's side score below five in each category and will be looking to upon their five game winning streak against Bob Bradley's side. Swansea have usually been a thorn in Arsenal's side in recent years, especially at The Emirates Stadium, however, with the loss of Ashley Williams at the back this season, the Welsh side look very poor defensively something the quality of Arsenal's attacking line should be taking advantage of. The one man we all look towards at Arsenal is without doubt Alexis Sanchez, he's been leading the line for Arsenal in recent weeks and has scored four goals already this season and picked up three assists. He's created 13 chances and had 15 attempts on goal in the last four gameweeks, showing just how involved he is in the Arsenal attack. Crystal Palace place second in the Gameweek 8 Attacking table, their fans will be hoping for another three points when West Ham are the visitors to Selhurst Park this Saturday. The Eagles fans will fancy their side to grab the points to, West Ham have one of the worst away form in the Premier League losing all three of their away games conceding nine goals. Winger, Andros Townsend was back in the England side this international break and when utilised by Gareth Southgate looked a constant threat down the right wing. He's an incredibly direct player who is producing dangerous crosses into the box whenever he plays. With 12 Goal Attempts in his last four games, it's clear to see the attacking intent that the English winger is providing for his side. It's probably sounding like a broken record when talking about Crystal Palace, but Christian Benteke provides a completely different option for Pardew this season. It enables them to play quicker into their striker and utilize his strength and aerial ability to create chances, it's not direct football as such, but it's very effective. The Belgian striker scored a hat trick against Gibraltar in the international break, although the quality of opposition isn't quite there, it will certainly give him confidence going into this fixture. With 12 attempts on goal in his last four games, he's certainly showing how much of a danger he is. Roberto Firmino is our tip from the Liverpool midfield, he scored and assisted in the 2-1 win over Swansea making it three goals and two assists for the season. He's improving week upon week and is a favourite of Jurgen Klopp's. Chelsea complete the top four this week, despite Eden Hazard being a favourite amongst FPL managers this season we can't look beyond Diego Costa for Chelsea this season. He's been in fine form this campaign and is the top scorer in the Premier League with six goals, even though he was interested in a move away from Stamford Bridge this summer, his performances have shown the complete opposite. Other Findings: Sergio Aguero loves Gameweek 8, it's almost a fact. In 2014/15 he scored four goals this Gameweek and last year Gameweek 8 was the date of his famous five goals against Newcastle. Despite him missing a penalty on international duty for Argentina, we expect him to return to club football with a bang against Everton. Even without KDB City look a threat, David Silva and Raheem Sterling have been in fine form under Pep this year and Nolito grabbed himself a goal on international duty. As the old FPL adage goes ‘you should always trust form over fixtures' and this could be the case for Everton and West Brom. Both sides rank within the bottom five, despite being within the top 10 in-form attacking sides in the league. Everton play Man City, who despite conceding in every match this season, have only conceded once per match (excluding last week's 2-0 defeat to Tottenham). West Brom host Tottenham who currently boast the best away defensive form in the league, so the Baggies will have their work cut out here. Sunderland's fixture gifts them the perfect opportunity to build on their goalscoring form as they travel to the newly rebranded Bet365 Stadium. Stoke City have looked better of late, only conceding two goals in their last two matches. However, we're judging things on last four matches which means that statistic jumps up to TEN goals conceded in four. Southampton are the bookies third favourite to score 2+ goals when they host Burnley on Saturday. Charlie Austin has two goals from his last three matches making him the go to option from the Saints. After scoring in Gameweek 6 and having an impressive set of World Cup Qualifiers, it's hard to ignore Dusan Tadic. [alert type=yellow ]Isn't it about time that your FPL skills paid off?
