Fantasy Serie A Five Tips For Gameweek 27

Share post on:
Welcome to another Serie A Fantasy Football article. Tom Daniels picks out his top 5 fantasy tips for Gameweek 27. Gameweek 26 finally provided too much for Juventus as their winning streak was broken thanks to a 0-0 draw against Bologna. However Napoli where unable to claim the top spot as they also drew against a resilient AC Milan squad 1-1. With both teams drawing their match Fiorentina relit their title hopes with an entertaining 3-2 victory over struggling Atalanta. With six points now separating the top 3 the title race couple prove to be more exciting than what people expected. Elsewhere Roma and Inter Milan showed that they are not settling for Europa league spots as they dominated Palermo 5-0 and Sampdoria 3-1. Finally Sassuolo picked up a much needed win against Empoli 3-2 and Verona continue to shock the league as they came out 3-1 winners against Chievo. Here are our five tips for Gameweek 27 of Serie A - our prices come from our partners over at MondoGoal (MO), who provide daily Fantasy Football contests for a variety of European leagues.

Tip 1 Roma to crush Empoli.

Roma have been struggling to get into the champions league spots this season. But with a win against Empoli it could possibly get them the third spot that was expected from them at the beginning of the season. After a decent first half of the season Empoli have slowly started to decline and have not won a game in 7 attempts. We recommend that Edin Dzeko (£8.0m) is a worthy choice for anybody's fantasy team at this moment in time. Dzeko has had a torrid time this season with Roma however that all seems to be behind the Bosnian as in his last 2 games he has recorded 3 goals. The former city man also claimed his biggest point tally of the season in his last match racking up 28.07 points. Mohamed Salah (£10.8m) should also be an ideal midfielder to have in your fantasy team. Much like Dzeko, Salah bagged two goals against Palermo last match taking his total to 9 goals and 2 assists for the season. Salah's talent has really started to show since the start of 2016 as his momentum has no sign of slowing down against a weakened Empoli team.

Tip 2 Juventus to keep a clean sheet.

Normally Juventus would always be the team that you expect to win all the time. However against a somewhat strong Inter Milan side it may be wise to invest in some defensive options rather than their prolific strikers. Juventus has conceded the least amount of goals in the Serie A this season (15) and that alongside their unbelievable home record practically guarantees a clean sheet. With all that in mind we recommend Leonardo Bonucci (£9.9m). The defender has recorded 13 clean sheets in the Serie A this season and has a total point tally of 176.76 (the 3rd highest of any Juventus player). Another recommendation would be Gianluigi Buffon (£10.4m). The Italian veteran has proved, yet again, that age does not matter as Buffon is 1st on the amount of clean sheets this season. Inter Milan are missing the goals that top goal scorer Eder (£7.6m) used to produce but he has now failed to hit the back of the net for five games. All hope lies on Mauro Icardi (£10.0m) if they will want anything from this game, as the forward has come into some decent form. The argentine has recently scored 3 goals in 4 games and is Inter Milan's major threat towards a sturdy Juventus defence.

Tip 3 Felipe Anderson to score for Lazio.

Felipe Anderson (£7.4m) is a man riding a huge wave of momentum having helped his team move on to the next round of the Europa league. With this recent momentum he looks very likely to provide yet another stunning performance against Sassuolo. The midfielder has an average season so far with 6 goals and 2 assists but he is Lazio's 2nd highest point earner with 143.16. However Lazio face Sassuolo, a team that are 7th whereas Lazio are stuck in 8th. While this will be a very close encounter Lazio's moral will be the highest it's been all season and if Felipe Anderson does score it is likely they could hold out for a victory to put them over their competitive rivals.

Tip 4 Verona to beat Udinese.

Udinese lay 15th in the Serie A only 4 points out of relegation, however Verona, despite being at the bottom of the league have started to go on a run of games. So without a doubt another shock victory is possible. Going into this match Verona are the inform team having beaten Chievo 3-1 thanks to goals from Toni, Pazzini and Ionita. Luca Toni (£11.2m) is the man we recommend can make it 2 wins in a row for Verona. The veteran striker, much like Buffon, is showing that age is just a number and with 2 goals in his last 2 games he looks to have finally found his finishing touch again. Toni is also Verona's 4th best points earner (103.20) despite only playing 15 games showing that the former Bayern Munich man is certainly inform. Despite Verona's position they actually have more goals in the Serie A than Udinese so if Verona can limit the amount of goals they concede a victory against a poor Udinese side is possible.

Tip 5 Sampdoria to beat Frosinone.

Sampdoria vs Frosinone is a must win for both teams but Sampdoria will look to stay away from the relegation drop with a victory on Sunday. Sampdoria lay one place above relegation but have scored more goals than any team bellow the top 4 with 37 goals except for AC Milan who have 38. In contrast Frosinone have conceded the most goals in the Serie A (51). With that in mind we highly recommend Roberto Soriano (£7.6m) as he has a strong chance of scoring more than one goal in this crucial game. Soriano has been Sampdoria's top performer this season and even though his form has dropped, he has still got 7 goals and 4 assists for his club. It's hard to tell which striker will start for Sampdoria but we recommend taking a gamble on Luis Muriel (£5.7m). The Columbian has been dropped in his last 3 games but his strong showing when coming on against Inter Milan may have convinced Vincenzo Montella to start him. Muriel has 6 goals and 5 assists to his name so he is more than capable to score or assist, it just depends on if it's worth the gamble.
