The Ligue 1 campaign takes a break over the Christmas period and then returns on the 8th of January this is the last opportunity of 2015 for clubs to pick up points, so they are likely to field their strongest XI's. With this in mind, things are set-up nicely and the framework is there for an exciting Gameweek; let's just hope the players can follow through.
Instead of recommending a player for each day and position, we have revamped our layout and now offer 5 of our best tips for the upcoming fixtures. Hopefully, they will provide a kick-start to get you ahead of your competition on

Tip #1 Paris Saint-Germain will score goals.
Paris Saint-Germain are the only team yet to lose a game among Europe's top 5 leagues and a win or draw here could stretch their unbeaten Ligue 1 record to 28 matches, which is their best run since August 1993 - April 1994. They are front-runners in the bookies odds and top of our ‘scoring potential' chart; this should come as no surprise as they have found the net 45 times in just 18 Ligue 1 games this season. PSG have been the dominating force in France for some time now and appear on route to continue this trend; already leading the table by an astonishing 17 points. They welcome Caen to the Parc des Princes, in a matchup where they are expected to control yet again. Their opposition have held strong this season and still occupy 4th spot, however, if PSG can keep Andy Delort (has contributed to 29% of Caen's goals this season) quiet then they are there for the beating. It's well worth your buck to splash the cash to include the likes of
Zlatan Ibrahimovic (20.3m) and
Angel Di Maria (15.3m) on your
Mondogoal side.
Tip #2 Monaco to secure a cleansheet on the road.
Monaco host undoubtedly the weakest club in the top tier, Troyes have failed to win a single Ligue 1 game in their last 19 attempts which is the worst run in the competition's history. Monaco are a very solid side away from home and have only lost 2 of their last 16 matches on their travels. A convincing win here and results to go their way elsewhere could push them into second place, nevertheless, the main objective, as it so often is with Monaco, will be to hold out for the cleansheet. They have won 8 games with a single-goal margin this season, so it's a sound decision to stack their defence. Our first choice recommendation is the versatile defender/midfielder
Fabinho (9.6m), he is expensive, but contributing with 3 goals and 2 assists this season, you get what you pay for in the premium price bracket. Monaco's second choice goalkeeper
Paul Nardi (6.4m) is expected to fill in for the injured Danijel Subasic, who has been ruled out until January, so if you are in search of a cheaper alternative to Lopes or Trapp, then look no further.
Tip #3 Batshuayi & Moukandjo are template picks.
So far this season, both players have contributed to 41% of their side's goals, with 11 goals apiece.
Michy Batshuayi (11.5m) has been involved in more goals this season than any other player in Ligue 1 barring Ibrahimovic while
Benjamin Moukandjo (7.9m) went on a scoring spree of 10 goals in 10 games from October through to November. The pairs ‘shoot-on-sight' style allows them to rack up
Mondogoal points with ease; Batshuayi has taken 18 shots on target in his last 7 appearances in all competitions! If you are feeling bold you could fade Moukandjo, however, Michy Batshuayi should be one of the first names on your team.
Tip #4 Claudio Beauvue to find the net for the third time this week.
On the back of a match-winning brace in the Coupe de la Ligue,
Claudio Beauvue (10m) will be desperate to deliver once again at the forefront. His strike partner Alexandre Lacazette is touch and go to recover from injury for this tie, however, Beauvue is the better option, especially being a nailed on starter and with form on his side. Lyon have triumphed in all of their 4 games this season versus clubs in the bottom five of the table, so come into this encounter as outright favourites having never lost to GFC Ajaccio in 6 meetings. Another Lyon player with big potential this weekend is
Clement Grenier (9.1m). Over the past few weeks, the direct midfielder has been eased back into the starting line-up, following a long spell on sideline. The French International is expected to feature from the off and after impressing with 3 key passes and 2 shots on target during his 70-minute showcase in Lyon's last Champions League fixture, he looks set to have a major impact this weekend.
Tip #5 Saint-Etienne to rediscover scoring touch.
Despite Angers punching above their weight in 2nd spot and unbeaten in their last 5 league games (W2, D3), they have a poor head-to-head record when facing Saint-Etienne. ‘The Greens' have won 11 of their last 15 Ligue 1 home matches vs. Anger and will be looking for more of the same come Sunday. One player who looks destined to shine in this fixture is
Valentin Eysseric (8.8m). The creative midfielder, who is the designated free-kick and penalty taker for Saint-Etienne has had a hand in four of his sides last 5 goals (3 goals, 1 assist). 28-year-old
Romain Hamouma (7.6m) is another name to keep an eye on; he has chipped in with 3 goals and 1 assist this season but has recently gone off the boil. Many
Mondogoal managers will stay clear due to his recent form; nevertheless, this might just be the match where he turns things around and proves a differential masterstroke.
