Welcome back to another Fantasy Championship five tips for Gameweek 33 article.
Joe Dean returns with his top five tips ahead of Gameweek 33 in the English Championship.
A lot has happened in the Championship since the last Gameweek. On the pitch, Bristol City were one of the big winners with 2 straight wins pulling them clear of the dropzone. It could prove to have been a pivotal couple of weeks in the relegation battle. The gap between 22
nd placed Rotherham to 21
st placed MK Dons has risen to 5 points, meaning the bottom 3 need results to avoid getting cut adrift. At the top of the league, things are much tighter.
Derby got their first win in 9 games with a late comeback at Brentford while Middlsebrough haven't won in 5. Burnley are the in form side in the promotion race having now gone unbeaten in 9. Off the field there has been some rare good news for Bolton, with former striker Dean Holdsworth heading a consortium which has agreed a £7.5 million takeover of the club. This should at least delay the club from going into administration.

Tip 1 Reading to follow up their FA Cup shock.
Despite their season appearing to be stagnating, Reading pulled off the shock of the FA Cup 5
th round with their win over Premier League West Brom. After not winning since early January, this Cup run could be the boost the Royals needed. They host Neil Warnock's Rotherham who are in desperate need of a result. 5 points from safety and having only managed 2 points from their last 6 games, Warnock needs to find the winning formula. The additions of Paddy Kenny and Lloyd Doyley were ineffective in their 2-0 defeat at Burnley last time out and I'm expecting a similar struggle on Tuesday.
Matej Vydra (MO:6.3m, FB:9.5m) is a proven goal threat in the Championship while centre half
Michael Hector (MO:6.6m, FB:4.5m) will want to replicate his impressive performance from the weekend.
Tip 2 Preston to make it four wins in four.
Preston are exceeding all expectations at the moment and 3 wins in 3 will have the Deepdale faithful becoming increasingly optimistic about putting together an unlikely playoff challenge. They'll be confident about closing the gap to 6
th placed Sheffield Wednesday when they host bottom side Charlton in midweek. Charlton look like a beaten team at the moment and will not relish a trip to one of the divisions in form sides. Preston's watertight defence is the main catalyst for this run so
Bailey Wright (MO:7.3m, FB:4.0m) and
Anders Lindegaard (MO:7.0m, FB:5.0m) should be safe bets for a clean sheet.
Paul Gallagher (MO:8.4m, FB:8.0m) has been the Lancashire side's most creative player so will fancy himself against the worst defence in the league.
Tip 3 Burnley to continue their fine form.
Burnley are quickly establishing themselves as one of the favourites for the title. In fantastic form, people may argue that their promotion rivals have games in hand however Derby and Boro are showing little signs that they could capitalise. The Clarets have made a tradition of making Turf Moor a fortress and this season has been no different. Nottingham Forest are the visitors this week and come into the game after a defeat to Huddersfield. That loss ended a 13 match unbeaten streak so I'm predicting a dip in Forest's form, starting with a defeat at Burnley. Attacking full back
Steven Ward (MO:8.5m, FB:4.5m) has point potential at both ends while
Andre Gray (MO:8.3m, FB:10.0m) is a must-have whenever Burnley play at home.
Tip 4 Chris Martin to shoot down Blackburn.
He was considered one of the best strikers outside the Premier League but a lengthy goal drought sore
Chris Martin's (MO:6.3m, FB:12.0m) reputation plummet. However he ended his wait for a goal with an injury time strike against Brentford. That could be bad news for the rest of the league as when Martin is confident and firing, he's difficult to stop. He helped his Derby side to a vital win at the weekend and I'm predicting him to spearhead a comfortable win over lowly Blackburn. Rovers were convincingly turned over by West Ham in the FA Cup and a long period with 10 men is likely to have taken a lot of energy out of the players. Goalscoring has been the main problem for Paul Lambert's side so
Marcuss Olsson (MO:6.3m, FB:5.0mm), against his former club, might be a smart inclusion as well as Martin.
Tip 5 Bristol City to pull further clear.
The appointment of Lee Johnson has worked perfectly for Bristol City so far with 2 wins in 2. They've built a relatively comfortable cushion between them and the bottom 3 but there is still plenty of hard work to do. The next step on the road to recovery is the visit of promotion hopefuls Brighton. The Seagulls were dismantled 4-1 at Cardiff, a result very out of character considering their good defensive record. With one of the poorest away records in the top 6, I can see them struggling at Ashton Gate.
Jonathan Kodija (MO:5.3m, FB:7.0m) netted his first goals in 11 games in the win over MK Dons last time out and he could cause real problems for the Brighton defence.
Ryan Flint (MO:7.8m, FB:6.0mm) is a consistent performer in the heart of the Robins' defence as well as being a threat from set pieces.
