Braveheart's GW8 review:

Gameweek 9 was another good week, my third sizeable green arrow in a row. I got 73 points for a green arrow of 300k (again) to 560k. I'm hoping to keep this run going and hopefully be looking at the top 100k by the time the festive fixtures frenzy comes around. In Gameweek 9, my captain Bruno Fernandes returned (a fortuitous) 22 points. This was supported by good returns for Calvert-Lewin (13), Son (10), Chilwell (7), Taylor (7). Going into Gameweek 10, I have 1 free transfer, £3.9m in the bank but, most notably, no Salah (or any Liverpool attacker). I also do not have any City attackers and they are about to embark on a well documented excellent run.

At the time of writing, Salah remains a doubt following his positive test for coronavirus. He has since returned a negative test and so there is hope that he might play in the Champions League against Atalanta. If he starts, or features, and it looks like he will start against Brighton, then I will look to use my transfer to bring him back into the side. The players on my "out list":

  • Ramsdale - I hate wasting free transfers on goalies unless necessary if there are improvements to be made elsewhere and Sheffield United have a favourable fixture from a defensive perspective against West Brom so Ramsdale will be staying for now,
  • Son - Spurs have started pretty gruesome turn of fixtures with a win against City during which Son scored. That said, I'm wanting to bring Salah or De Bryune as these players would improve my captaincy options for the rest of the first half of the season,
  • Mitrovic - the Serbian was responsible for one of the highlights of my season as his penalty was saved by David Marshall to send SCOTLAND TO THE EUROS but domestically he was dropped in Gameweek 9, looks to be off penalties for Fulham and is the biggest weakness in my first eleven, I'm still keen to replace him with a better cheap forward (Bamford, Watkins, Adams or Maupay) however I'm not entirely sure which one I prefer. I have a slight preference for Watkins due to his next few fixtures.

Braveheart's GW10 reveal:

Depending on the Salah news, I will either transfer Son to Salah (c) or Mitrovic to Watkins. I would like to bring in some City players due to their fixtures but the form worries me as they've looked poor this season so far and a mistake I made in October was bringing in a City player without taking the time to get any information on their form. I'm reluctant to do that and will probably watch the Burnley match from behind the couch as I try to get information about City.

If I make the moves I'm currently liking, my team for this week is as follows:

  • Ramsdale v West Brom (a)
  • Chilwell v Tottenham (h)
  • Justin v Fulham (h)
  • Walker-Peters v Newcastle (h)
  • Salah (captain) v Brighton (a)
  • Fernandes (vice captain) v Southampton (a)
  • Ziyech v Tottenham (h)
  • Grealish v West Ham (a)
  • Kane v Chelsea (a)
  • Calvert-Lewin v Leeds (h)
  • Mitrovic v Leicester (a)

The team is not set in stone until the deadline so please follow me at @FPLBraveheart on Twitter for any updates. All the best and I hope everyone reading gets green arrows in GW10. But, most importantly, stay safe out there (or, more accurately, at home)!
